A smart phone carried by a user being aboard a vehicle transmits an automatic Virtual Network Computing (VNC) request that is a request of a remote manipulation based on a trigger event that arises when a short range wireless communication is established with an in-vehicle apparatus in the vehicle. Further, the smart phone transmits a manual VNC request at the time when a manipulation for a VNC request is performed by a user. In contrast, the in-vehicle apparatus uses, as a start condition of starting a VNC connection, a reception of the automatic VNC request from a smart phone that is registered as a target of remote manipulation. In particular, when a plurality of smart phones are registered, the in-vehicle apparatus adds a reception of the manual VNC request from a smart phone into the start condition.

The vehicular headlight apparatus includes a control means configured to change a light illumination area following a position of a detected target object until a shift angle between a reference direction and a direction to the target object with respect to a headlight is calculated to exceed a maximum limit shift angle, and configured to, when a vehicle speed is detected to exceed a predetermined threshold value, set the maximum limit shift angle to a small deflection angle, and change the present light illumination area to a low-beam light illumination area covered by the headlight in a low-beam state if the shift angle is calculated to exceed the maximum limit shift angle set to the small deflection angle.

A vehicular apparatus includes a communication portion and a vehicular display portion to communicate with a mobile phone having a touch panel. The vehicular apparatus acquires pixel information about a screen of the touch panel and displays the pixel information on the vehicular display portion. When a user performs a press manipulation onto the vehicular display portion, the vehicular apparatus transmits a signal indicating a manipulation target area to the mobile phone via the communication portion. The vehicular apparatus performs changeover to handsfree phone call when detecting that the mobile phone enters a phone call state within a specified time since detection of the press manipulation onto the vehicular display portion.

An in-vehicle apparatus receives an image data representative of a screen image from a portable terminal with a touch panel. The apparatus extracts a text code data from the image data, and identifies a text-code display area in the screen image. The apparatus determines a command text based on a user-uttered voice command. The apparatus identifies a text-code display area as a subject operation area in the screen image of the portable terminal, based on the command text, the text code data extracted from image data, and information on the text-code display area corresponding to the text code data. An area of the screen image of the touch panel corresponding to the text-code display area is identified as the subject operation area, and a signal indicative of the subject operation area identified is transmitted to the portable terminal.

An in-vehicle device includes: a memory for storing a gadget corresponding to an icon, a display content of which is changed with time, wherein the gadget provides a process; a display having a screen, on which the icon is displayed; an operation receiver for receiving an operation to the icon; a controller for executing the process when the controller determines that the operation receiver receives the operation to the icon under a condition that the display displays the icon; and a driving condition information obtaining element for obtaining driving condition information of a vehicle. The controller controls the display to change a display mode of the icon based on the driving condition information when the display displays the icon.

In-vehicle device for storing gadget

An operation surface detects a touch point specified by an operator. An imaging area obtains a hand image of the operator. A fingertip detection unit detects a fingertip of the hand image. A display device includes a display screen having coordinates uniquely corresponding to the operation surface and the imaging area. The display device indicates the fingertip and an operation panel specific to an in-vehicle electronic device to be operated. An interface engine having a prescribed interface relationship between an input, which is specified by at least one of the touch point and the fingertip, and an output to be outputted to the in-vehicle electronic device according to a combination of the input and the interface relationship. An alteration unit alters the interface relationship according to a detected traveling state of the vehicle.

Operation apparatus for in-vehicle electronic device and method for controlling the same

A two-dimensional operation section includes a stick-shaped rocking shaft having an end having an operation knob. The operation knob is operated within a predetermined two-dimensional operation surface determined as an operation range such that a rocking axis of the rocking shaft tilts from a predetermined neutral angular position to a direction corresponding to an instructed position. A one-dimensional operation section has an operation surface exposed in a main surface of the operation knob, the main surface being an end surface of the rocking shaft. The one-dimensional operation section can be operated in a predetermined one-dimensional operation direction determined within the two-dimensional operation surface relative to the operation surface.

In-vehicle manipulation apparatus and in-vehicle input apparatus

An emergency notification in-vehicle terminal mountable to a vehicle is disclosed. The in-vehicle terminal is configured to transmit emergency information to a center in response to detection of an occurrence of an emergency situation involving the vehicle. The in-vehicle terminal determines, in response to the detection of the occurrence of the emergency situation, whether the emergency notification in-vehicle terminal is operating by an electric power of a back-up battery. If it is determined that the emergency notification in-vehicle terminal is operating by the electric power of the back-up battery, the in-vehicle terminal transmits a minimum necessary amount of the emergency information to the center.

A rocking switch unit includes a base section, a switch knob, a pair of tactile switches, a middle rocking section, and a pair of switch-pressing portions. The switch knob and the middle rocking section are coupled with the base section to be rockable. The switch-pressing portions are located between a pair of rocking end portions of the switch knob and the tactile switches, for transmitting a pressing force from one of the rocking end portions to a corresponding tactile switch when the one of the rocking end portions is pressed in a pressing direction. The switch-pressing portions are coupled with two end portions of the middle rocking section in such a manner that a coupling angle between a rocking surface of the middle rocking section and rocking surfaces of the switch-pressing portions is variable in a pressing direction.
