An information processing device is disclosed. In the information processing device, a derivation unit derives, for each of sensors, a constraint expression obtained by substituting an observation value for a term of an observation value variable in an error model. The observation value indicates the number of present objects observed by the sensors. The error model represents correspondence between: the number of present objects in an observation range represented by the observation value variable and an error term related to an assumed detection error range of the sensor, and the number of present objects in an observation range represented by a variable indicating the number of present objects in an observation unit space. A range calculation unit calculates a possible range of the number of present objects. A reliability calculation unit calculates reliability of an estimation value of the number of present objects for each of the areas.

A mechanism simulation method of using both a dynamics simulation and a kinematic simulation is described. In the dynamics simulation, a behavior of a mechanism is simulated using a dynamics model including a continuous system equation having a plurality of variables. In the kinematic simulation, a geometrical operation of the mechanism is simulated using a three-dimensional mechanism model including a plurality of mechanism elements. A value of one of the variables of the continuous system equation is calculated by a first simulator that executes the dynamics simulation. Referring to a table that represents a correspondence between the variables and the mechanism elements, a mechanism element corresponding to a variable having the calculated value is identified. Information specifying the identified mechanism element and the calculated value of the variable is transmit to a second simulator, which executes the kinematic simulation based on the information.

Method and program for linking dynamics simulation and kinematic simulation

A method and apparatus for generating three-dimensional shape data in analytic surface expression form by using polygonal shape data. In the polygonal shape data, at least a portion of a shape is approximated by a combination of a plurality of polygons. A set of polygons is generated from the polygonal shape data, each of the polygons satisfying a predetermined selection criterion. An analytic surface is fitted in place of the obtained set of polygons. The step of fitting is repeated by obtaining another set of polygons until a predetermined termination condition is satisfied.

Instead of inputting adding information for this changing, the searched plot operation is executed in accordance with the data to be changed to execute changing (cancelling, adding, and correction) of the shape or scale.
