A control-mode switching device includes: a plurality of actuators () that conduct different movement; driving means () that drive the actuators; a plurality of control levers (-) that command operation of the driving means; a plurality of limit switches (-) that detect arrival of the control levers to the proximity of an end of a control range; a mode judging means (controller) that judges whether a priority operation mode is taken or not in accordance with a combination of on/off conditions of the limit switches; and a drive controlling means (controller) that, when it is judged by the mode judging means that the priority operation mode is taken, controls the driving means so that an output of selected one or more of the driving means becomes larger than that in a normal mode or the power ratio as compared with the other driving means becomes larger.

Storage of data which changes during the operation of a construction machine and processing of data can be performed at a low cost by using existing sensors and switches mounted on the construction machine. In an operation section of a controller, each level for indicating a content of a detection signal of each sensor or an instruction signal of a switch is determined first. Then, the detection signal to be input is judged to belong to which of the respective levels at every sensor readout interval (sampling time), and a count value of the level to which the detection signal was judged to belong is processed to add for a portion of the sampling time. And, a time count value at every level stored in a storage section is read from the outside to perform the data processing.

A data processing unit for a construction machine, the unit being capable of storing the load condition of an engine independently of variations in engine output torque without entailing increases in cost due to additional installation of sensors. This data processing unit is designed such that the rotational speed of the engine when no load is imposed thereon and the actual rotational speed of the engine are detected; combinations of first parameter values and second parameter values are divided into a plurality of regions thereby setting a load map, the first parameter values being the values of the rotational speed of the engine when no load is imposed thereon while the second parameter values are the values of the difference between the rotational speed of the engine when no load is imposed thereon and the actual speed of the engine; detecting time of the first parameter value and the second parameter value of each region in the load map until a certain time elapses is accumulated; and the result of the accumulation for each region of the load map is stored.

The invention relates to a device whereby irrespective of the magnitude of the load the desired maximum flow QM is fed to the hydraulic actuator which drives the working part, thus allowing the working part to work at the desired speed. The flow rate through the flow rate control valves is controlled so that when the operation means is operated beyond a prescribed operating start position, the hydraulic actuators begin to be driven, the flow fed to the hydraulic actuators attaining a prescribed maximum when the operation means is operated to its maximum operating rate, while the rate of change of the flow fed to the hydraulic actuators reaches a prescribed magnitude for each fixed operating rate of the operation means. The rate of change of the flow rate is altered according to the magnitude of the load.
