Disclosed is a sterilization apparatus that can kill or inactivate sterilization target organisms present on a body or in the body without damage to human cells and has high energy efficiency. A sterilization apparatus is configured to irradiate a sterilization target organism on a body or in the body with light and thereby killing or inactivating the sterilization target organism. The sterilization apparatus includes: a light source configured to emit light having wavelengths within a wavelength range of 190 nm to 230 nm and a wavelength range of 230 to 300 nm; a power supply unit configured to supply power to the light source; a control unit configured to control the power supply unit; and an optical filter. The power supply unit is controlled by the control unit so that an irradiation amount of light having a wavelength within the wavelength range of 230 to 300 nm in one light irradiation is not more than 9 mJ/cm.

Sterilization apparatus

A printer includes a conveying device that conveys a printing medium and a cutting device that makes a trim cut in at least one of a plurality of corners of a region where a printed material has been printed. The conveying device conveys the printing medium to the cutting device before the cut is made.

A linear light source includes an LED, an LED drive circuit substrate disposed on a frame, a flexible substrate on which an electric supply pattern is formed and to which the LED is attached at one end and the LED drive circuit is attached at the other end, a linear light guide and a heat sink. The one end of the flexible substrate is attached to the heat sink. A face of the heat sink covered by the LED and a face of the one end of the flexible substrate are perpendicular to the light guide and to a substrate face of the LED drive circuit substrate, while a face of the other end of the flexible substrate is parallel to the light guide and a substrate face of the LED drive circuit substrate. A bent portion is formed between the two ends of the flexible substrate.

Linear light source apparatus

An LED linear light source includes an approximately rod-shaped light guiding member, at an end portion of which an LED is provided. The light guiding member is in an approximately arc shape in a cross sectional view taken perpendicular to an optical axis. The light guiding member has an upper face including a light emission face for emitting light and a lower face including a reflective face, which are arranged in parallel. A diffusing member diffuses light provided on part of an outer circumferential face adjacent to a light entering end face of the light guiding member. A light absorption member is provided in an outside of the light guiding member near at an end portion thereof.

Light guiding member and bifurcated linear light source apparatus

Ink for use in an ink-jet color recording apparatus and a plurality of kinds of small microcapsules dispersed in the solvent, each small microcapsule having an outer shell destroyable with ultrasonic waves of a predetermined resonant frequency, each small microcapsule containing a color former within its outer shell with the outer surface of the outer shell covered with a developer. The plurality of kinds of small microcapsules are destroyed selectively with the corresponding predetermined stimuli to thereby produce magenta, cyan, yellow or black. The ink is colorless before producing the color. The ink-jet color recording apparatus irradiates the plurality of small microcapsules with ultrasonic waves of a selected frequency corresponding to a desired color to thereby change the color of the ink on a path through which the ink is fed from a color ink feeding device to an ink cartridge.

A color image forming method and apparatus using larger microcapsules each of which contains a plurality of kinds of smaller microcapsules scattered within the larger microcapsule, reacting substances that are mixed with each other to perform a coloring reaction being scattered inside and outside the smaller microcapsule. A protective wall of each smaller microcapsule is broken with a corresponding predetermined ultrasonic stimulus depending upon color component information to thereby cause the reacting substances to diffuse with each other to perform a coloring reaction and hence image printing. The conditions for breaking the protective walls of the respective smaller microcapsules that contain a color former component vary from smaller microcapsule to smaller microcapsule, or are determined depending upon the outer shapes, materials and thickness of the protective walls of the smaller microcapsules.
