A terminal is to be connected to an electric wire including a conductor core wire and a sheath covering the conductor core wire. The terminal includes a connection portion and a conductor fixing portion which is located rearward of the connecting portion and configured to fix the conductor core wire exposed from the electric wire. The connection portion and the conductor fixing portion are integrally formed to each other and are extended in a front-rear direction. The conductor fixing portion has through holes penetrating in a thickness direction of the conductor fixing portion. An end edge portion of each of the plurality of through holes on an outer peripheral surface side of the conductor fixing portion is provided with a tapered portion that increases in diameter of the tapered portion toward an outer peripheral surface of the conductor fixing portion.

Terminal and electric wire with the same

A method of manufacturing a wire with a terminal includes a crimping process of crimping a crimping terminal on a wire by a terminal crimping apparatus that includes a first mold including a supporting surface supporting the crimping terminal, and a second mold disposed to face the supporting surface and including a recessed wall surface. The recessed wall surface includes a first wall surface and a second wall surface, and a third wall surface curved toward an opposite side of the supporting surface. The first wall surface and the second wall surface include inclined portions and parallel portions. The inclined portions are inclined with respect to the stroke direction so that an interval in the width direction becomes narrower toward the third wall surface. The parallel portions are parallel to the stroke direction. In the crimping process, the side wall surfaces of the first mold face the inclined portions in a state in which the first mold and the second mold come closest to each other in the stroke direction.

Method of manufacturing wire with terminal and crimping terminal

A method of manufacturing a crimping terminal includes a punching process of punching out a crimping terminal from a flat-plate-shaped metal base material, an attaching process of attaching a sheet-like water stop member to a wire connection portion being a portion in the crimping terminal that is to be crimped onto a wire, and a bending process of bending the wire connection portion to which the water stop member is attached. The wire connection portion may integrally cover a core wire and a covering of the wire by being crimped onto the wire.

Method of manufacturing crimping terminal

A terminal crimping apparatus includes a terminal supply device configured to supply a terminal chain member including a plurality of crimping terminals, a first mold including a first edge portion provided at one end of a supporting surface supporting the crimping terminals, a second mold configured to crimp the crimping terminal onto a wire by sandwiching the crimping terminal between the second mold and the supporting surface, and a terminal cutting member including a second edge portion. The terminal cutting member cuts a boundary with the crimping terminal in a link portion using the second edge portion.

Terminal crimping apparatus

A crimp terminal includes a wire connection portion including a bottom wall portion, and a pair of side wall portions. The wire connection portion includes a core wire crimping portion provided on one end side, and to be crimped onto a core wire of a wire, and a covering crimping portion provided on another end side, and to be crimped onto a covering of the wire, and integrally covers the core wire and the covering. In the core wire crimping portion before crimping, an interval between outer wall surfaces of the pair of side wall portions is widest at an end portion on the covering crimping portion side, and in the covering crimping portion before crimping, the interval is widest at an end portion on the core wire crimping portion side.
