Provided are a threat-countering system and a threat-countering method for efficiently countering incoming threats by using laser irradiation. The threat-countering system comprises a countering device, a deterrent device, and a decision device. The countering device detects incoming threats and counters the threats by using laser irradiation. The deterrent device is installed to prevent threats from approaching a protected object through a deterrent region in which the power of the laser irradiation is assumed to be lower than a predetermined threshold. The decision device decides the position of the upper end of the deterrent device on the basis of the upper end of the deterrent region.

Threat countermeasure system and threat countermeasure method

A phase difference measuring device is provided with a phase conversion device and a detection device. The phase conversion device converts a first laser beam that passes therethrough so that the first laser beam includes a phase distribution of one cycle in an azimuth direction in a cross section of the first laser beam included in an arbitrary virtual plane perpendicular to an optical axis of the first laser beam. The detection device detects an azimuth angle of an intensity centroid of an interference pattern generated by at least a part of a first laser beam that has passed through the phase conversion device, and a part of a second laser beam that derives from a laser beam as seed light from which the first laser beam derives, of which an optical intensity is same as the at least a part of the first laser beam, and detects an inter-beam phase difference of the second laser beam.

Phase difference measuring device, beam output apparatus and phase difference measuring method

A threat coping system () is provided with a threat coping device () that copes with a coping target () and a control device () that controls the threat coping device. The control device () is provided with a no-coping area setting means () and a coping instruction means (). The no-coping area setting means () sets a no-coping area () based on information of a no-coping target that is not to cope with. The coping instruction means () generates an instruction signal, that instructs the threat coping device to cope a coping target, based on the no-coping area.

Threat coping system

A laser tracking device includes an adjustment device, a telescope, and a drive device. The adjustment device modifies the emission direction of first light wave. The telescope emits the first light wave in the emission direction modified by the adjustment device. The drive device rotates the telescope based on a predicted path of a moving body. The adjustment device provides more precision in modifying the emission direction of the first light wave than in the drive device rotating the telescope. Further, the adjustment device modifies the emission direction to offset the modification of the emission direction caused by the rotation of the telescope from a time when a tracking start condition is satisfied until the moving body is detected.

Laser tracking device

A flying body, which prevents others from measuring precise position of the flying body and allows friends to measure precise position of the flying body, is provided. The flying body () is provided with a reflector (), a controller () and an anti-reflection section (). The reflector () is provided with a reflective surface, arranged in an aperture, which reflects a radiated laser. The controller () generates a control signal on a basis of a state of the flying body. The anti-reflection section () prevents a reflection of the laser by the reflective surface on a basis of the control signal.

Flying body

A laser apparatus that can generate a high-quality laser beam is provided. The laser apparatus is provided with a laser medium and an insulation layer. The laser medium has a first surface and a second surface. Incident laser light is incident on the first surface. The second surface totally reflects the incident laser light that is incident to the second surface at an incident angle equal to or larger than a critical angle. The insulation layer covers a second area of the second surface that surrounds a first area of the second surface, the first area totally reflecting the incident laser light. The laser medium is exposed in the first area.

Laser apparatus

A transmission type adaptive optical system that can be applied to a high power laser beam beyond a limit of deformable mirrors and corrects wavefront turbulence of a laser beam with adaptation to the wavefront turbulence is provided. By using a transmission type adaptive optical element of which a refractive index distribution changes based on temperature distribution thereof, a wavefront turbulence of a laser beam is corrected with adaptation to this wavefront turbulence. The wavefront turbulence is detected by a wavefront sensor and heating light in accordance with the detected wavefront turbulence is emitted to irradiate the transmission type adaptive optical element. The transmission type adaptive optical element transmits a laser beam as a target to correct a wavefront turbulence thereof and generates temperature distribution by the heating light and as a result generates the refractive index distribution.

Transmission type adaptive optical system

A solid state laser apparatus includes a plurality of cold heads, a cooling apparatus, laser media and a seed light source. The cooling apparatus is configured to cool the plurality of cold heads. The laser media are arranged in contact with each of the plurality of cold heads, and configured to amplify a first laser beam and reflect the first laser beam. The seed light source is configured to irradiate a first laser medium of the laser media with the first laser beam. The first laser medium is arranged on a first of the cold heads. The laser media are configured to reflect the first laser beam irradiated to the first laser medium to a second laser medium of the laser media. The second laser medium is arranged on a second of the cold heads. The cold heads are configured to cool the laser media.

Solid state laser apparatus

An underwater acoustic deception system deceives a sensor installed on a threat existing in or on water by acoustic effect in order to protect ships from the threat. The underwater acoustic deception system is provided with a control device, a laser oscillator and emission optical system. The control device determines a focusing position to focus a laser beam () in water in order to generate bubbles () at a desired position with a desired scale and emission parameters of the laser beam (). The laser oscillator generates the laser beam () configured to focus in water and generate bubbles. The emission optical system emits the generated laser beam () to the focusing position. The underwater acoustic deception system deceives an arbitrary sensor existing in the water by acoustic effect of the bubbles () on the surroundings.

Underwater acoustic deception system and underwater acoustic deception method

A laser beam is condensed in a close position to a target object in underwater so as to generate an air bubble or plasma. The target object is efficiently destroyed by a shock by the air bubble or the plasma.

Underwater object destruction system and underwater object destruction method

A solid obstacle is removed with a high-power laser beam to establish a transmission path for a spatial laser communication. When a space in which the laser beam is transmitted is blocked off by the solid obstacle, the spatial laser communication cannot be carried out.

Laser communication system and laser communication method

A solid-state laser device includes an inner container, an outer container, a cooling medium supply unit, and a cover section. The inner container in which a laser medium is accommodated includes an inner light-transmitting unit. An outer light-transmitting unit of the outer container is provided at a part that faces the inner light-transmitting unit and is vacuum-insulated from the inner light-transmitting unit. The cooling medium supply unit supplies a cooling medium so that the cooling medium comes in contact with a surface other than a light input and output surface in the laser medium. The cover section partitions a light-passing area from a cooling medium supply area to which the cooling medium is supplied.

Solid-state laser device

A method of irradiating an electromagnetic pulse includes specifying a position of a target having electronic equipment; setting the light-condensing point based on the position of the target; and condensing the laser beam to generate plasma in the light-condensing point such that the electromagnetic pulse generated from the plasma is irradiated to the electronic equipment. In this way, a method and system for irradiating an electromagnetic pulse are realized which can irradiate the electromagnetic pulse of a large output while restraining diffusion of the electromagnetic pulse.

A laser array device includes a first lens tube () through which a first laser beam () passes, a second lens tube () through which a second laser beam () passes, a support mechanism () disposed to support the first lens tube () and the second lens tube to be parallel to each other, a first lens () arranged in the first lens tube (), and a second lens () arranged in the second lens tube (). A first temperature-rise suppressing mechanism () is disposed in the first lens tube () to suppress temperature rise of the first lens tube ().

Laser array device

An electromagnetic pulse protecting method includes: searching a threatthat generates an electromagnetic pulse; and generating plasmain a light-condensed pointby condensing a laser beamon a light-condensed pointin response to detection of the threat. Thus, various protection objects which contain a protection object having an electric opening indispensably can be protected from an attack by the electromagnetic pulse.
