A vehicle presence notification apparatus includes a speaker and a disconnection determination section. The speaker generates a notification sound to outside a vehicle when a driving condition to notify of presence of the vehicle is satisfied. The disconnection determination section determines a disconnection state of the speaker based on an electromotive force generated by the speaker at a time when a vehicle horn mounted in the vehicle is activated.

Vehicle presence notification apparatus

An ultrasonic generation element provides a primary resonance portion existing in an ultrasonic frequency band, and is caused to perform only a notice sound generation by parametric speaker. An audible-sound generation piezoelectric speaker provides a primary resonance portion existing in an audible frequency band, and is caused to switch between a notice sound generation by dynamic speaker and a notice sound generation by parametric speaker, based on vehicular information. Under a predetermined low vehicle speed, a notice sound is generated in both (i) an area ahead of a vehicle and distant from the vehicle, and (ii) an area surrounding the vehicle. When the vehicle speed increases, a notice sound is generated at a position ahead of the vehicle and more distant from the vehicle.

A light detecting device includes a case, a light introducing member and a light receiving element. A predetermined light is incident into an inlet face of the introducing member, and an outlet face of the introducing member emits the light incident into the inlet face. A first distance is defined between a top point of the outlet face and a focus of the introducing member, and a second distance is defined between the top point of the outlet face and a light receiving face of the receiving element. The outlet face has a convex lens shape in a manner that the first distance is smaller than the second distance.

Light detecting device

A light sensor for detecting brightness of an outside of a vehicle includes: a light shielding element on a windshield; a light guiding element in a through hole of the light shielding element; and a light receiving element that receives light from the outside of the vehicle via the light guiding element and the windshield. The light guiding element includes an entrance surface facing the windshield and an output surface facing the light receiving element. The entrance surface receives the light from the outside. The light guiding element transmits and outputs the light from the output surface toward the light receiving element. The entrance surface has a top disposed inside of the through hole.

Light sensor for detecting brightness

An illuminance sensor for detecting brightness of outside a vehicle having a windshield includes first and second light receiving elements and a light emitting element for emitting light to the windshield. The first light receiving element outputs a first signal corresponding to outside light. The light emitted from the light emitting element is reflected at an outside surface of the windshield. The second light receiving element outputs a second signal corresponding to the reflected light. The outside light passes a first region of the windshield through which the light emitted from the light emitting element passes or a second region of the windshield through which the reflected light passes. The first signal is corrected based on the second signal to detect the brightness.

Illuminance sensor for vehicle

An airflow meter has a member that defines a bypass passage. The bypass passage has a sensing passage in which a sensor tip is disposed. The sensing passage is restricted in at least a lateral direction that is a direction perpendicular to both a longitudinal direction of the sensing passage and a perpendicular direction perpendicular to the surface of the sensor tip. This arrangement defines relatively wider distance in the perpendicular direction on the sensor tip.
