An addressee information notification system includes an application server which, based on an addressee number requested by an incoming call connection request, selects one transfer destination terminal from plural alternative transfer destination terminals associated with the addressee number, and transfers the call connection request to the selected terminal, and plural terminals configured as alternative transfer destinations. The application server includes an addressee information attachment section that attaches addressee information in the form of the addressee number or identification information associated with the addressee number to the call connection request to be transferred to the selected terminal. At least one of the plural terminals has an addressee information output section that, when a call connection request is provided to that terminal from the application server, outputs the addressee information attached to the call connection request before the terminal is taken off-hook.

In a caller information notifier system, a calling terminal transmits a calling signal having a phone number for callback inserted which is different from the phone number of the calling terminal. When a callback is tried from a called terminal, a communication network server, where the calling signal passes, determines the relationship between the phone number of the calling terminal and the phone number for callback inserted in the calling signal to authenticate the phone number for callback. A terminal which receives the calling signal extracts the phone number for callback from the calling signal and keeps the extracted number as a callback phone number. The callback phone number is, for instance, an FMC service number. The probability of success in reaching a caller is thereby increased.

An address translator carries out address translation between a private address and a global address on a source address or a destination address included in the header of a received packet. The translator includes an address translation processor for applying address translation information to the header area of the received packet on a network layer level and carrying out address translation on the network layer level by means of the address translation information. Thus, the translator can establish high transparency, high possibility to establish interconnection, impartial assurance for users, high throughput and high availability, and thus provide open measures minimizing interrupt actions of any communication as well as possible.

An inter-network connection system is provided with a plurality of interface boards capable of processing traffic in a lower layer, an upper layer processing board capable of processing traffic in an upper layer, and an inter-board connection board capable of intervening in information transfer between the interface board and the upper layer processing board. The interface board has its input/output ports paired as port groups. When traffic is input through one input/output port of a port group, the traffic is output through the other input/output port of this port group. Only when the traffic is to be processed in the upper layer, the traffic is transferred from the interface board to the upper layer processing board. The inter-network connection system allows the amount of traffic processed in parallel to be increased with a high security configuration.

When a user wishes to play purchased content data by a playing terminal, a registration database server authenticates a user ID. Furthermore, when the playing terminal requests a content server to establish communication, the content server authenticates the playing terminal to thereby establish communication only with the playing terminal of which the user ID authentication and terminal authentication are correct. Consequently, the content data is prevented from being copied to another playing terminal which is owned by a third party, and thus the copyright of the content data can be protected.
