A wavelength converter includes, a first optical member including a first optical layer that transmits first light, a wavelength conversion layer that is disposed at a substrate, has a light incident surface, and converts the first light into second light, a light emitting portion, and a second optical member disposed at the light emitting portion and including a second optical layer that reflects the first light and transmits the second light. The first optical layer inclines with respect to the light incident surface and reflects the second light. The wavelength conversion layer includes a first layer that the first light having passed through the first optical layer enters, and a second layer which the first light having passed through the first layer enters. The second layer scatters the first light by a degree greater than the degree by which the first layer scatters the first light.

Wavelength converter, light source apparatus, and projector

A light source device includes a substrate having a supporting surface, a light source emitting first light, a first optical member having a first optical layer facing the supporting surface and reflecting the first light, a first wavelength conversion layer disposed on the supporting surface, a second wavelength conversion layer disposed at a first wavelength conversion layer side, and a light emitting portion formed by at least the substrate and the first optical member. The first optical layer is inclined with respect to the supporting surface and further reflects the second and third lights. The second wavelength conversion layer converts a part of the first light emitted from the light source into third light. The first wavelength conversion layer converts a part of the first light emitted from the second wavelength conversion layer into second light. The light emitting portion emits the first, second, and third lights.

Light source device and projector

A light source device includes a substrate having a supporting surface, a first light source disposed at the substrate and emitting a first light, a first optical member having a first optical layer facing the supporting surface and reflecting the first light, a first wavelength conversion layer having a light incident surface and converting the first light into second light, a light emitting portion formed by at least the substrate and the first optical member, and a second optical member disposed at the light emitting portion and having a second optical layer which reflects the first light and transmits the second light. The first optical layer is inclined with respect to the light incident surface and reflects the second light. The first wavelength conversion layer is disposed on one of a surface of the first optical layer and the supporting surface. The light emitting portion emits the second light.

A light source apparatus includes a light source, a wavelength conversion layer, a substrate, a first optical member having a first optical layer that transmits first light and reflects second light, second and third optical members having second and third optical layers that reflect the first light and the second light and intersect with the first optical layer, and a fourth optical layer reflects the first light and transmits the second light. The first optical member includes a fifth optical layer that transmits the first light polarized is a first direction. The first optical layer reflects part of the first light emitted from the wavelength conversion layer. First area of a light incident surface of the wavelength conversion layer is greater than second area of a light incident region of the light incident surface. The second area of the light incident region is greater than third area of an aperture.

Light source apparatus and projector

An illuminator includes a light source that outputs first light having a first wavelength band, a wavelength converter that converts the first light into second light having a second wavelength band different from the first, a first optical element that reflects part of the first light to cause the reflected first light to be incident on the wavelength converter and transmits the other part of the first light and the second light, and a second optical element that reflects the other part of the first light having the first wavelength band and passing through the first optical element, the direction of the reflected light being the traveling direction of the second light having the second wavelength band and passing through the first optical element, and transmits the second light having the second wavelength band and emitted from the wavelength converter.

Illuminator and projector

A light source apparatus according to the present disclosure includes a first light source including a plurality of first light emitters arranged in a single row along a first direction, a second light source including a plurality of second light emitters arranged in a single row along a second direction, and a polarization combiner. The polarization combiner transmits the first luminous flux from the first light source and reflects the second luminous flux from the second light source. In an imaginary plane perpendicular to the center axis of the combined luminous flux, the direction in which the plurality of first beams are arranged in the single row and the direction in which the plurality of second beams are arranged in the single row intersect with each other, and the first luminous flux and the second luminous flux partially overlap with each other.

Four of laser light source sections each includes a semiconductor laser. Any two of the laser light source sections are disposed in an imaginary plane perpendicular to the center axis of a luminous flux and on a first imaginary line that intersects with the center axis so as to face each other with the center axis sandwiched between the two laser light source sections, and other two of the laser light source sections are disposed on a second imaginary line perpendicular to the first imaginary line so as to face each other with the center axis sandwiched between the two laser light source sections. The laser light source sections are at the same distance from the center axis. The first light, the second light, the third light, and the fourth light are each linearly polarized light and have the same polarization direction.

A light source apparatus according to an aspect of the present disclosure includes a first light source section, a second light source section, a first polarization separator, a second polarization separator that reflects part of second light and transmits the other part of the second light, a first phase retarder which is disposed between the first polarization separator and the second polarization separator and on which the part of the second light reflected off the second polarization separator is incident, a wavelength conversion layer that converts the first light and the part of the second light into third light having a second wavelength band and outputs the third light toward the first polarization separator, and a first light focusing optical system disposed between the wavelength conversion layer and the first polarization separator. The wavelength conversion layer has a first surface via which the third light exits and a second surface that intersects with the first surface. The first light is focused by the first light focusing optical system and enters the wavelength conversion layer at least via the second surface thereof, and the second light enters the wavelength conversion layer via the first surface thereof.

A light source device according to the present disclosure includes a light source unit configured to emit a first light beam, a second light beam, and a third light beam, a first polarization split element configured to transmit the first light beam and the second light beam and reflect the third light beam, a second polarization split element configured to transmit the first light beam and reflect the second light beam, a first retardation element, a first diffusion element configured to diffuse the third light beam, a second diffusion element configured to diffuse the second light beam, and a third diffusion element configured to diffuse the first light beam. The first retardation element converts a polarization direction of the second light beam from the first polarization split element, and converts a polarization direction of the another part of the second light beam from the second polarization split element.

In a first period, an optical apparatus converts first light that exits out of a retardation film into light polarized in a first polarization direction and converts second light that exits out of the retardation film into light polarized in a second polarization direction, and in a second period, the optical apparatus converts the first light that exits out of the retardation film into light polarized in the second polarization direction and converts the second light that exits out of the retardation film into light polarized in the first polarization direction.

Display apparatus and projector

An illuminator includes a light emitting apparatus which outputs first light belonging to a first wavelength band, a wavelength converter which converts part of the first light into second light belonging to a second wavelength band and causes the second and remainder of the first light to exit, a first optical system with positive power and which the first light enters, an optical element which the remaining first light enters and which reflects either the first or second light and transmits the other, a second optical system with positive power and which the first from the optical element and second light from the converter enter, a third optical system with positive power and causes the first light from the second optical system to enter the converter, and a fourth optical system with positive power and which the second light from the second optical system enters.

A light source apparatus includes a light source section, a first optical layer that transmits first light polarized in a first polarization direction and incident from the light source section and reflects the first light polarized in a second polarization direction and incident from the light source section, a second optical layer that transmits the first light polarized in the first polarization direction and incident from the first optical layer, a third optical layer that transmits the first light polarized in the first polarization direction and incident from the second optical layer, a fourth optical layer that reflects the first light polarized in the first polarization direction and incident from the third optical layer, a diffusion element, and a wavelength converter.

A light source device according to the present disclosure includes a light source section, a first polarization split element for transmitting first light with a first polarization direction from the light source section and reflecting the first light with a second polarization direction, a first retardation element, a second polarization split element for reflecting the first light in the second polarization direction from the first retardation element, a second retardation element, and a light conversion device having a diffusion element for diffusing the first light from the second retardation element, a first wavelength conversion element for performing wavelength conversion on the first light to emit second light, and a substrate.

Light source device, projector, and display device

An illumination device includes a first light emitting element emitting first light in a first wavelength band, a wavelength conversion element converting a part of the first light into second light including a second wavelength band and a third wavelength band, diffusing another part of the first light, and emitting a result, a second light emitting element for emitting third light having the second wavelength band, a first optical element having a first area for reflecting the first light to enter the wavelength conversion element, reflecting fourth light having the second wavelength band out of the second light, and reflecting the third light, and a second area for transmitting the first light and the second light, and a second optical element for transmitting the first light to enter the first optical element, and reflecting the fourth light to enter the wavelength conversion element via the first area.

Illumination device and projector

The present disclosure relates to a light source apparatus including a laser light source that outputs a laser beam and a collimator system that parallelizes the laser beam. The collimator system includes three lens groups. A first group includes a first anamorphic lens having negative power in a first direction. A second group includes a second anamorphic lens having positive power in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. A third group includes a third anamorphic lens having positive power in the first direction.
