The present invention provides a crosslinked polymer composition exhibiting significantly improved elongation at break over conventional ones, and a polymer composition and a polyrotaxane, each of which can be used as a raw material of the crosslinked polymer composition. The polyrotaxane contains a linear molecule, a cyclic molecule, and a blocking group, wherein the cyclic molecule has a hydrosilyl group. The polymer composition contains the polyrotaxane and a polymer, wherein the polymer has a double bond on at least either a main chain or a side chain. The crosslinked polymer composition is produced by crosslinking of the polymer composition through chemical reaction between the hydrosilyl group of the cyclic molecule and the double bond of the polymer.

The present invention provides isolated nanosheets each of which includes a plurality of pseudo-polyrotaxanes and which are easily isolated without adhering to each other. The present invention provides an isolated nanosheet including a plurality of pseudo-polyrotaxanes each having one or more first cyclic molecules and a linear molecule included in a cavity or cavities of the first cyclic molecules in a skewered manner, wherein the linear molecules include, as part thereof, first linear molecules each having an ionizable group that ionizes in water or an aqueous solution.

Isolated nanosheet and production method thereof

It is intended to provide a crosslinked polyrotaxane formed by crosslinking polyrotaxane molecules via chemical bonds which exhibits excellent optical properties in water or in an aqueous solution of sodium chloride; a compound having this crosslinked polyrotaxane; and a process for producing the same. The above object can be achieved by a crosslinked polyrotaxane having at least two polyrotaxane molecules, wherein linear molecules are included in a skewered-like state at the opening of cyclodextrin molecules and blocking groups are provided at both ends of the linear molecules, so as to prevent the cyclodextrin molecules from leaving, and cyclodextrin molecules in at least two polyrotaxane molecules being bonded to each other via chemical bond, characterized in that hydroxyl (&#x2014;OH) groups in the cyclodextrin molecules are partly substituted with non-ionic groups.

A material which comprises a polyrotaxane and a polymer and is crosslinked by irradiation with light. In the material, which comprises a first polyrotaxane and a polymer, the first polyrotaxane comprises a first cyclic molecules, a first linear molecule with which the first cyclic molecules are clathrated in a splitted state, and first blocking groups disposed respectively at both ends of the first linear molecule so as to prevent the first cyclic molecules from being released from the first linear molecule. The first polyrotaxane combines with at least part of the polymer through the first cyclic molecules by photocrosslinking reaction.

A crosslinked polyrotaxane is formed by combining the hydrophobic linear polyrotaxane molecule and a polymer through the cyclic molecule.

A process for producing a polyrotaxane in a high yield and at a satisfactory cost without using a large excess of a pseudopolyrotaxane and/or without using a large excess of an activated reagent. The process for polyrotaxane production comprises: an inclusion step in which a carboxylated polyethylene glycol which is a polyethylene glycol carboxylated at each end is mixed with cyclodextrin molecules to obtain a pseudopolyrotaxane which comprises cyclodextrin molecules which include the carboxylated polyethylene glycol in their cavities as if the cyclodextrin molecules are spitted with the carboxylated polyethylene glycol; and a capping step in which the pseudopolyrotaxane is reacted with capping groups having &#x2014;NHor &#x2014;OH to obtain a polyrotaxane terminated at each end by a &#x2014;CO&#x2014;NH-(capping group) or &#x2014;CO&#x2014;O-(capping group).

Materials having crosslinked polyrotaxane and process for producing the same

A novel compound and novel gelatinous substance which have high absorbability, uniform expansion, and elasticity. Although conventional gels include chemical gels and physical gels, no novel gels or compounds have been realized which have fracture resistance, high entropic elasticity, and biodegradability. The present invention provides a novel compound and a novel gelatinous substance which each comprises a crosslinked polyrotaxane obtained by chemically bonding two or more polyrotaxane molecules through the cyclic molecules or rotators thereof.
