The invention relates to a method and a device for the temperature control of inking groups () and dampening solutions of an offset printing press (), wherein, in order to achieve the temperature control of the inking groups (), a heat transfer medium that has previously been circulated by the inking groups () in a temperature control circuit of said inking group () is optionally cooled, and wherein, in order to achieve the temperature control of the dampening solution, the dampening solution that has previously been circulated by the inking groups () in a temperature control circuit of said inking group () is optionally cooled. In order to smoothen the temperature profile in the temperature control circuits of the inking group () and the dampening solution () and simultaneously reduce the amount of dampening solution contained in the dampening solution circuit (), the invention proposes that a part of the heat transfer medium is cooled to a temperature below the set temperature of the dampening solution in the dampening system () and is brought into contact in a heat exchanger () with a dampening solution from the dampening solution circuit ().
