A position input device includes electrodes formed of metal with a belt-like shape, extended along a first direction, and arranged with a space therebetween along a second direction that is orthogonal to the first direction, lines each electrically connected to one end of each of the electrodes in the first direction to receive a signal, dummy electrodes formed of metal with a belt-like shape and each disposed in a space between the electrodes that are adjacent, and dummy lines each coupled to an end of each of the dummy electrodes in the first direction in an electrically disconnected state. The electrodes, the lines, the dummy electrodes, and the dummy lines each include a front side surface and a back side surface in a plane along the first direction and the second direction, and at least one of the front side surface and the back side surface is blackened.

Position input device and display device with position input function

A touch panel (a position input device) includes a trace group including traces arranged at intervals, and an electrode portion including a driving electrode and a detection electrode. The traces, the driving electrode, and the detection electrode are made of a light transmissive conductive film. The driving electrode and the detection electrode are arranged adjacent to the trace group and include a slit extending along the traces.

Position input device and display device

A configuration of a touch-panel-equipped display device in which the occurrence of moire can be suppressed is provided. A touch-panel-equipped display device () includes: a color filter layer () that includes a plurality of pixels (PX) arranged in matrix along a first direction and a second direction that intersect at a right angle; and a sensor pattern layer () that includes a plurality of electrodes () arranged along the second direction at a predetermined sensor interval (SY) and is disposed so as to overlap the color filter layer () in a plan view. Each of the plurality of pixels (PX) includes n color filters (R,G,B) that transmit light in different wavelength regions from one another, where n represents an integer of 3 or more. Touch-panel-equipped display device

A touch panel () includes: a glass substrate (); X-direction electrodes and Y-direction electrodes () provided above the glass substrate (); lines () provided above the glass substrate () and electrically connected with the X- and Y-direction electrodes (); an insulating resin layer () covering the X- and Y-direction electrodes () and lines (); and a conductive layer () provided above the insulating resin layer () to allow static electricity entering the panel from the outside to flow therethrough.

Touch panel

A liquid crystal display device includes a liquid crystal display panel, a functional panel, a photo curable adhesive, a transparent electrode, and a light blocking line. The liquid crystal panel includes a display area to display an image and a non-display area surrounding the display area. The functional panel is attached to the liquid crystal panel, and includes a display overlapping area overlapping with the display area and a display non-overlapping area overlapping with the non-display area in a plan view. The photo curable adhesive is arranged between the panels and cured by light applied thereto. The transparent electrode is arranged in the display overlapping area and made of light transmissive conductive material. The light blocking line is arranged in the display non-overlapping area and made of light shielding metal material. The light blocking line partially has a light-transmission cutout that is configured to allow the light to pass therethrough.

Display device

Disclosed is a liquid crystal display device () that is provided with a function of identifying the position of a subject to be detected (finger) in an image display region () of a liquid crystal panel () by emitting light to the image display region () and by detecting light reflected by the subject to be detected (finger). The liquid crystal display device is provided with a backlight () and a front light-emitting unit (), which radiate light to the image display region (). The backlight () is disposed on the side of the liquid crystal panel () opposite to the image display surface (), and emits light to the image display region () from the rear side of the liquid crystal panel (). The front light-emitting unit () is disposed outside of the image display region (), and emits light to the image display region () without having the liquid crystal panel () therebetween. With such a configuration, even when the subject to be detected and the display panel are apart from each other, the position of the subject to be detected can be accurately identified.

A liquid crystal display device () of the present invention includes: a liquid crystal panel () including: an active matrix substrate (); a counter substrate (); and a liquid crystal layer () provided between the active matrix substrate () and the counter substrate (); and a backlight () illuminating the liquid crystal panel. The liquid crystal display device () has an area sensor function for detecting an external input position, and further includes a reflectance changing section () that reduces a reflectance of light from the backlight () in response to application of pressure on a panel surface (). The reflectance changing section () is configured so that in a state where no pressure is applied on the panel surface (), an air layer () is formed between two elastic films (and) whereas in a state where pressure is applied on the panel surface (), the two elastic films (and) contact each other.
