A cylinder lock utilizing an unlocking code to set at any desired time after the cylinder lock has been assembled and which, before the setting of the unlocking code, allows the rotor to be rotated for the purpose of inproving the efficiency of the automotive assembly work. The cylinder lock includes a rotor in which tumblers are installed, is rotatably inserted in a cylinder case, the tumblers following a code forming portion of an inserted key plate to form a lock-side unlocking code that matches a key-side unlocking code defined by the code forming portion. The tumblers are put in a state where the lock-side unlocking code is formed, in response to an identification portion formed in the key plate.

An optical atmospheric link system controls the angle an emitted light beam makes to a predetermined direction. A turning force is supplied to a rigid body housing an optical system without direct contact with the rigid body so that changes in the optical axis caused by a disturbance can be compressed, allowing servo-control operation to adjust the optical axis with high speed and with less driving power.

An ion exchange membrane electrolytic cell comprises an anode, a cathode, an anode compartment and a cathode compartment partitioned by an ion exchange membrane. A gas and liquid permeable porous non-electrode layer composed of non-oxide ceramics particles is bonded to at least one side of the ion exchange membrane. With use of such a membrane, the cell voltage can considerably reduced in the electrolysis of water, an alkali metal halide, an alkali metal carbonate, etc.

A magnet brush cleaning apparatus for removing a toner which has been left non-transferred on the surface of a photoconductive element. The residual toner is attracted by and supported on a rotary sleeve on which a magnetic carrier forms a magnet brush. The magnetic carrier separated from the magnet brush and the residual toner are separated from each other by an electrode which is disposed in a circulatory carrier supply path in order to develop an intense electric field. The thus separated carrier is returned to the sleeve. The electrode may take the form of a roller, a plate or a wire. The residual toner on the photoconductive element has its amount of charge reduced in advance by a discharging unit. A substantial amount of the residual toner is scraped off the photoconductive element by a fur brush. A desired amount of the carrier is discharged and replenished automatically in response to lowering of the cleaning ability of the apparatus.

Magnet brush cleaning apparatus for electrophotographic copying machine

A cleaning apparatus is disclosed which removes residual toner particles from a photoconductor by use of magnetic carrier particles. The carrier particles form magnetic brushes which adsorb and thereby remove the residual toner particles from the photoconductor. Two relay sleeves each having permanent magnets thereinside cause the removed toner particles to circulate together with the carrier particles. A toner collector roller and a counter electrode face each other at opposite sides of a circulation path for the carrier particles which are carrying the toner particles therewith. The toner collector roller collects the toner particles adsorbed by the carrier particles. The counter electrode comprises a relatively narrow and grounded conductive electrode portion and a relatively wide insulator portion.
