A system and method for transporting connectors for printed circuit boards using connectors which are protected from tilting in a magazine case. Each connector () for printed circuit boards has a housing () narrow and elongate to hold a few contacts (), a pair of lockable elastic legs () disposed at lower end regions of opposite lateral walls () of the housing and protruding sideways, and locking pawls () formed integral with the respective elastic legs. A pair of supplementary lugs () formed integral with upper end regions of the lateral walls () also protrude sideways the same distance as the pawls, so that when the connectors are driven forth within a magazine case (), the neighboring supplementary lugs () will contact each other simultaneously as the neighboring pawls () jostle one another, protecting the connectors from tilting, and thus delivering them in line and in an ordinarily way.

Connector for printed circuit boards

A unit is composed in such a manner that the circuit board is fixed along the back face of the plug housing into which the contacts are incorporated. The plug type connector is assembled in such a manner that the cover housing is slid in parallel with the surface of the circuit board and incorporated into the unit. At this time, the edge section of the circuit board and the edge section of the plug housing, which is set along the circuit board, are introduced into the guide groove of the cover housing.

A receptacle type connector fixed to a side plate of an image forming device body includes a primary inserting and drawing recess which is open upward. A contact holding wall of an opponent plug type connector is inserted into and drawn out from the primary inserting and drawing recess. Even when toner intrudes into the primary inserting and drawing recess which is open, the toner can be discharged from the connector via the through-hole, which is formed in a lower portion of the primary inserting and drawing recess, by lightly tapping the receptacle type connector.

A contact holding wall and the groove-shaped guide wall of the plug type connector are respectively inserted into and strongly connected with a primary inserting and drawing recess and a groove-shaped subsidiary inserting and drawing recess of a receptacle type connector. The housing of each connector has a portion surrounding the periphery of a contact holding wall. A longitudinal rib formed on the inner face of a side wall section of the receptacle type connector is engaged with a longitudinal groove of a predetermined depth formed on a side wall section of the plug type connector.
