A first detector is provided with a cuff adapted to be placed on an upper arm of a subject to detect noninvasive blood pressure of the subject. At least one second detector is adapted to be placed on a part of the subject to detect at least one vital sign of the subject. A single main body is detachably provided on the cuff while being connected with the first detector and the at least one second detector. A display is provided on the main body and operable to display the non-invasive blood pressure and the at least one vital sign as measurement data. A transmitter is provided in the main body and operable to transmit the measurement data to a receiver placed in a remote location.

Vital sign telemeter

A system, a method, and a program for predicting a processing shape formed by a plasma process, including databases for apparatus condition, incident ion, incident radical, actual measurement, material property and surface reaction, as well as a trajectory calculation unit, and a surface shape calculation unit. The trajectory calculation unit calculates the trajectories of the respective ions incident on the surface of the substrate based on information and data obtained from the databases and from measurement data from an on-wafer monitoring sensor. Based on the calculation result by the trajectory calculation unit, the surface shape calculation unit calculates the change of the shape by referring to the data stored in the material property and surface reaction DB.

System, method, and program for predicting processing shape by plasma process

A biological signal detection system includes a pair of electrodes, adapted to be attached on a living body; a transmitter, adapted to be attached on the living body, and including an electric circuit operable to process the biological signal and to telemeter the processed signal; and a biological signal inputting apparatus. The system may also include a receiver-transmitter operable to receive the processed signal telemetered from the transmitter and to telemeter the processed signal to the biological signal inputting apparatus by way of a wide area network; and a storage for storing the processed signal telemetered from the transmitter as biological signal data and for inputting the biological signal data to the biological signal inputting apparatus. Also, the system may include a storage for storing the processed signal telemetered from the transmitter as biological signal data and for inputting the biological signal data to the biological signal inputting apparatus.

Biological signal detection system

A plurality of ultrasonic transducer elements are arranged on the top surface of a probe, which is a concave spherical surface, so that ultrasonic beams transmitted from the ultrasonic transducer elements will intersect at a point coincident with the center of curvature of a curve delineated by the top surface. At this time, the acoustic lines conically propagate over a region beyond the point of intersection. Namely, the ultrasonic beams transmitted from the ultrasonic transducer elements pass through the point of intersection coincident with the center of curvature, and then conically and three-dimensionally propagate over the region beyond the point of intersection. Thus, acoustic lines are three-dimensionally transmitted to a wide region beyond an intercostal part of a physiological body or any other narrow space, and echoes returned from the region are received. Consequently, the wide region can be three-dimensionally monitored.

An inclination angle detecting device comprises a reference arm attached near the contact area of an ultrasound probe with one end thereof being rotatably attached, a pressing means which presses the reference arm in a direction away from the ultrasound probe, and a detecting unit for detecting the amount of rotation of the reference arm. Placing the ultrasound probe against the surface of the body causes the reference arm to be rotated and pressed against the surface of the body in close contact, whereby the inclination angle is detected from the amount of rotation.

A method and apparatus for applying infrared radiation to a respiratory gas and detects a signal associated with the quantity of transmitted radiation for measuring the concentration of CO,in the respiratory gas. The capnometer detects a maximum value of the detection signal from the thermal detector during the present inspiration phase, stores the detected maximum value in RAM, performs the first approximation, Kalman filtering or some other suitable method to compute a corrected value that is valid for the time being until a maximum value is detected in the next inspiration phase, and determines a density signal by calculating the difference between the corrected value and the detection signal.

Capnometer

A sensor device a sensor unit which detects a biomedical signal, and a transmitter which converts the biomedical signal into a radio signal and then transmits the radio signal. The transmitter has an electrode detachment detection unit 12 which detects electrode detachment on the basis of an output of the sensor unit, and transmits an electrode detachment signal indicative of the detachment. In a receiver, the biomedical signal transmitted from the transmitter is received, the signal is attenuated by an attenuation unit, and the attenuated signal is supplied to a wired sensor input portion of another device through a switch and a connection unit. In the receiver, when the electrode detachment signal is detected from the signal transmitted from the transmitter, the switch is turned off.

Medical telemetery system, and a sensor device and a receiver for the same

A biological gas sensor for measuring a carbon dioxide partial pressure in an alimentary canal while excluding the influences of hydrogen sulfide and/or weak acid is disclosed. The gas sensor comprises a sensor which has in the sensitive part thereof a bicarbonate buffer solution held by a gas permeable membrane and detects a carbon dioxide partial pressure based on the hydrogen ion concentration of the bicarbonate buffer solution, a liquid holding part which is formed of a gas permeable tube having in the inside thereof the sensitive part of the sensor, an isotonic solution which is held in the liquid holding part and is isotonic with the bicarbonate buffer solution, and a metallic member (e.g., a coil of copper wire) so that hydrogen sulfide entering the liquid holding part may react with the metal and precipitate.

Biological gas sensor

An apparatus for non-invasion heart monitoring includes electrocardiogram measuring means (1) for measuring electrocardiograms, pulse wave measuring means (2) for measuring pulse waves, and a CPU (30) for processing electrocardiogram signals derived from the electrocardiogram measuring means (1) and pulse wave signals derived from the pulse-wave measuring means (2). The CPU (30) detects the amplitudes of the pulse waves corresponding to the R waves of the cardiogram and the pulse wave propagation times, and computes a ratio (Nr/N) of the heart rate N and the heart rate Nr exclusive of the heart beats of wave deficits.

Non-invasive heart monitoring apparatus and method

A pulse wave propagation time is counted constantly. Not only it is judged whether or not a pulse wave propagation time change .DELTA.T exceeds a pulse wave propagation time change threshold .DELTA.Ts, but also it is judged whether or not cardiovascular dynamic changes .DELTA.HR, r.sub.1, r.sub.2 exceed thresholds thereof .DELTA.HRs, r.sub.1 s, r.sub.2 s, whereby a sudden turn for the worse in the blood pressure fluctuation of a subject is monitored. If any one of the changes exceeds the threshold thereof, a blood pressure measurement using a cuff 2 is made on the subject.

An eyepiece optical system, an illuminating lamp, and a battery 2 are housed in an operation unit 2. An insertion unit in which an image transmitting optical fiber bundle and an illumination light transmitting optical fiber bundle are incorporated is detachably coupled with the operation unit through a coupling unit. The insertion unit is bent using a bending wire attached to the distal end thereof and coupled to the operation unit by a wire operating mechanism. An anti-clouding material can be disposed on a surface of the distal end of the insertion unit to protect it against clouding.

A capnometer includes an airway adaptor for letting a respiratory gas pass therethrough, a light source for holding the airway adaptor and irradiating with infrared radiations the respiratory gas passing through the airway adaptor, a detecting portion having an infrared radiation detector for detecting the infrared radiations that have passed through the respiratory gas, and a monitor body for measuring the concentration of respiratory carbon dioxide gas by receiving a signal from the detecting portion, wherein an angle is defined between the channel of the airway adaptor and a display surface of the monitor body.

The apparatus has: electrodes (E.sub.1 to E.sub.6) which are to be attached to a predetermined region of a living body; a skin potential measuring unit (1) which detects the skin potential from the electrodes; a judging unit (3) which detects and stores the skin potential before administration of an anesthetic agent, which detects and stores that after administration of the anesthetic agent, which sets a threshold to be an arbitrary level, on the basis of a change from the stored skin potential before administration of the anesthetic agent to the stored skin potential after administration of the anesthetic agent, and which compares the time-varying skin potential with the threshold, thereby judging the depth of anesthesia; and an alarm unit (6) which raises an alarm in accordance with instructions from the judging unit.

Method and apparatus for judging a depth of anesthesia

After an initial blood pressure measurement using a cuff 2 has been made, not only a pulse wave propagation time Tt is counted consecutively, but also a pulse wave propagation time change .DELTA.T is calculated every time the pulse wave propagation time Tt is counted and compared with a pulse wave propagation change threshold .DELTA.Ts. When the pulse wave propagation time change .DELTA.T exceeds the pulse wave propagation time change threshold .DELTA.Ts, not only a blood pressure value BPt is measured with the cuff 2, but also a pulse wave propagation time Tt.sub.1 is counted. If there are at least two sets of data, each set of data consisting of a blood pressure value BPt and a pulse wave propagation time Tt.sub.1, coefficients .alpha., .beta. specific to a subject are calculated from such two sets of data by a least-squares method. Then, the pulse wave propagation time change threshold .DELTA.Ts is calculated from the coefficient .alpha., and the current pulse wave propagation time change threshold .DELTA.Ts is updated.

The capnometer of the invention is an equipment which detects a signal which time-varies in accordance with a carbon dioxide concentration from a respiration gas, thereby calculating the carbon dioxide concentration. The capnometer has: carbon dioxide concentration calculating device for detecting the maximum value for each expiration from a concentration signal corresponding to the calculated carbon dioxide concentration, for comparing the maximum value with concentration signals respectively corresponding to a plurality of predetermined concentration ranges, and for outputting one of different control signals for the concentration ranges; and reporting device for outputting a sound corresponding to the carbon dioxide concentration, in accordance with the control signal.
