One of the purposes of the present invention is to provide a blocking agent for blocking an isocyanate group to thereby prepare an isocyanate compound which has excellent water resistance and is react with another polymerizable compound to be cured at a relatively low temperature; and another purpose is to provide a blocked isocyanate having an isocyanate group blocked with the blocking agent. The present invention provides a blocking agent for blocking an isocyanate group, wherein the blocking agent is an organic silicon alcohol having an organic group bonded to a silicon atom and said organic group is capable of forming a β-silyl cation together with the silicon atom. In a preferred embodiment, the present invention provides a blocking agent which is an organic silicon alcohol represented by the general formula (1). In the formula (1), Ris an alkylene group having 3 to 5 carbon atoms and may have a substituent, provided that the number of carbon atoms of the substituent is not included in the number of the carbon atoms of the alkylene group, Ris an alkyl group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms, Z is an organic group capable of forming a β-silyl cation together with the silicon atom to which Z bonds, and n is an integer of 1 to 3. The present invention further provides a blocked isocyanate having a structure in which the isocyanate group is blocked with the aforesaid blocking agent and a thermosetting composition comprising the blocked isocyanate.

Photocurable composition, a hydrogel and a molded product thereof

A photocatalyst laminate which is composed of an undercoat layer provided on a substrate and a photocatalyst layer laminated on the surface of the undercoat layer. The undercoat layer contains (A) 100 parts by mass of a resin component and (B) 0.1-50 parts by mass of fine core-shell particles, each of which has a core that is formed of a fine tetragonal titanium oxide solid solution particle wherein tin and manganese are solid-solved and a shell that is formed from silicon oxide on the outside of the core. This photocatalyst laminate is not susceptible to decrease in the photocatalyst function even under outdoor exposure for a long period of time, and is thus capable of providing a coated article that exhibits excellent weather resistance.

One-pack addition curable silicone composition, method for storing same, and method for curing same

The present invention provides a method for manufacturing a laminate that exhibits visible light transparency and ultraviolet light shielding properties while maintaining an extremely high degree of scratch resistance, and that has all the necessary weather resistance and durability properties for withstanding long-term outdoor exposure. This method for manufacturing a laminate having the abovementioned properties includes: (1) using active energy rays to cure, on an organic resin substrate, an acrylic silicone resin composition having an inorganic component percentage X of 0.2 to 0.8 to form an intermediate layer, (2) dry-etching the surface of the intermediate layer obtained at step (1) using a non-oxidizing gas plasma of a plasma irradiation amount Y correlated with the inorganic component percentage X; and (3) plasma-polymerizing an organosilicon compound to form a hard coat layer on the surface of the intermediate layer obtained at step (2).

Method for manufacturing laminate

Provided is a heat dissipation material comprising a mesogen/silicon compound (co)polymer having a number average molecular weight of 1,000-500,000, represented by general formula (1). (Ar is a mesogen group selected from the structure represented by the following formulas. a represents a positive number from 0.5 to 1, b represents a number from 0 to 0.5 (with the caveat that a and b each represent the ratio of each number of repeating units in molecules, and a+b=1). Ris independently a monovalent hydrocarbon group which does not independently include a Caliphatic unsaturated bond. Ris independently a hydrogen atom, &#x2014;Si(CH), &#x2014;Si(CH)(OH), &#x2014;Si(CH)(CH&#x2550;CH) or &#x2014;Si(CH)(CH&#x2014;CH&#x2550;CH)). This heat dissipation material has excellent thermal conductivity, and further shows good thermoplastic properties and has excellent moldability, and hence can be suitably used as a resin material for heat dissipation materials and semiconductor devices and electronic parts in particular.

A silicone rubber composition is provided comprising (A) an alkenyl-containing organopolysiloxane, (B) reinforcing silica, (C) an inorganic particle-polysiloxane composite comprising inorganic nanoparticles having a polysiloxane containing SiRROand SiRRROunits grafted to their surface, and (D) a curing agent. The composition cures into a transparent silicone rubber having UV-absorbing ability and heat resistance.
