A vehicle control apparatus includes: a VSA-ECU and an ESB-ECU that perform braking control to apply a braking torque in response to a brake operation by a driver of a host vehicle, and also perform brake holding control to hold the braking torque even when the brake operation is cancelled; and an engine control unit that performs idling stop control to stop driving of an engine that is a drive source of the host vehicle when a stop condition is satisfied, including that a vehicle speed of the host vehicle enters a predetermined low vehicle speed region, and also performs restart control to restart the engine when a predetermined restart condition is satisfied. The engine control unit prohibits execution of the idling stop control during execution of the brake holding control.

Vehicle control apparatus and vehicle equipped with vehicle control apparatus

A vehicle which can improve fuel consumption without a driver feeling uncomfortable is provided. The vehicle includes: a hydraulic pressure sensor for acquiring a brake torque value which increases in accordance with a stepping-in amount of a brake pedal by the driver, and an ECU which automatically stops an engine after a basic time has elapsed since a basic condition is satisfied and then automatically restarts the engine. The ECU automatically stops the engine before the basic time elapses, when an increment of the brake torque value from a reference value after the basic condition is satisfied is equal to or greater than an additional stepping judgment value, and a shortened time shorter than the basic time has elapsed.

Start and stop control for a vehicle

A vehicle controlling device includes: a VSA-ECU that performs deceleration control of a host vehicle using an inter-vehicle distance between the host vehicle and another vehicle traveling in front of the host vehicle; and an engine control unit that performs idling stop control of stopping drive of an engine as a driving source of the host vehicle upon satisfying stop conditions including a condition that vehicle speed of the host vehicle enters a predetermined low vehicle speed range and performs restart control of restarting the engine upon satisfying a predetermined restart condition. A power supply mounted on the host vehicle is used in common as a power supply used in executing the deceleration control and a power supply used in executing the restart control. The engine control unit prohibits execution of the idling stop control during execution of the deceleration control.

A control unit for a vehicle comprises an automatic engine stop-and-restart unit for stopping the engine responsive to predefined stop conditions and for restarting the engine responsive to predefined restart conditions, and a following-cruise control unit for controlling the vehicle to follow a vehicle ahead responsive to predefined following-cruise conditions. The automatic stop-and-restart unit for stopping and restarting the engine is configured to modify at least one of the stop conditions and the restart conditions during the following-cruise control.

Stop-and-restart control of a vehicle engine

An intake control system for an internal combustion engine, which, even when there are a plurality of intake air amounts for attaining one target torque, is capable of positively selecting a minimum intake air amount therefrom without causing hunting, and setting the minimum intake air amount as a target intake air amount, thereby making it possible to improve fuel economy. The intake control system calculates a maximum intake air amount, sets a plurality of provisional intake air amounts within a range of 0 to the maximum intake air amount, calculates torques estimated to be output from the engine with respect to the provisional intake air amounts, respectively, selects a minimum provisional intake air amount that makes the estimated torque equal to or close to the target torque from the relationship between the provisional intake air amounts and the estimated torques, and sets the same as the target intake air amount.

Intake control system for internal combustion engine

A system for purifying exhaust gas generated by an internal combustion engine including a bypass branching out from the exhaust pipe downstream of a catalyst and merging to the exhaust pipe, an adsorber installed in the bypass, a bypass valve member which closes the bypass, and an EGR conduit connected to the bypass at one end and connected to the air intake system for recirculating the exhaust gas to the air intake system. The bypass valve member is opened for a period after engine startup to introduce the exhaust gas such that the adsorber installed in the bypass adsorbs the unburnt HC component in the exhaust gas. The adsorber adsorbs the HC component when the exhaust temperature rises and the adsorbed component is recirculated to the air intake system through the EGR conduit. In the system, the bypass valve is provided at or close to the branching point in the exhaust pipe and a chamber is provided close to the branching point such that the conduit is connected to the bypass at the one end in the chamber. The bypass valve member is combined with an exhaust pipe valve member as a combination valve such that when the bypass valve member closes the bypass, the exhaust pipe valve member opens the exhaust pipe. With the arrangement, the system can effectively prevent the exhaust pipe from being clogged even when a valve for closing a bypass is stuck in the closed position. Control apparatus for hybrid vehicle

An air conditioning device for a vehicle having a regenerative section improves efficiency of regeneration. The air conditioning device comprises a compressor () connected to an output shaft () of an engine () via an electromagnetic clutch (), a motor-generator () for electrically recovering kinetic energy of the vehicle () during deceleration, a battery () for storing energy regenerated by the motor-generator (), and a motor-driven compressor (). When the vehicle () is in a deceleration state, the compressor () is disconnected from the engine () by disengaging the electromagnetic clutch (), and air conditioning is performed by the motor-driven compressor ().

A motor charge-discharge torque limit correction coefficient for during cylinder deactivation enlargement assistance, which changes with an increasing trend according to an increase in a regeneration/assistance integrated residual amount which is an integrated value of the energy amount obtained during deceleration regeneration of vehicle, that is a correction coefficient which corrects to decrease an energy management discharge torque limit which is an upper limit value of motor torque set according to for example, an energy state in high voltage electrical equipment and an operating state of the vehicle, when assisting the output from the internal-combustion engine by the motor, is calculated. An object is to improve fuel consumption efficiency while maintaining a desired driving force. In a control device of a hybrid vehicle provided with an engine and a propulsion motor, at least one of which is used for driving the hybrid vehicle and a high voltage battery which power is charged and discharged by driving or regeneration operation of a propulsion motor, the control device comprises a throttle opening control device which controls an opening of a throttle depending on an accelerator pedal operating amount, and when the current driving speed of the vehicle at zero, and either the temperature of the high voltage battery is lower than a specified value, or the internal resistance of the high voltage battery is greater than a specified value, or an increase in a rotation speed of the propulsion motor or the rotation speed of the engineis greater than a specified value, or a change amount of the input/output power voltage of the high voltage battery is greater than a specified value, or a change amount of the accelerator pedal operating amount is greater than a specified value, delays the response characteristic of the throttle opening with respect to the accelerator pedal operating amount more than for a standard control, and also performs control in which the upper limit value thereof is limited.

A control device for a hybrid vehicle, the hybrid vehicle comprising an engine and a motor as power sources, the control device including: a battery device sending energy to and receiving energy from the motor, a temperature sensor for measuring the temperature of the battery device; a control section which is adapted to execute a warming control operation for the battery device when the temperature of the battery device is low; and a determination section for determining whether a cylinder deactivation operation is permitted for the engine depending on the running state of the engine. The control section executes a vibration control operation for the engine by operating the motor so as to reduce vibration of the engine when it is determined by the determination section that the partial cylinder deactivation operation is permitted for the engine, and to perform the warming control operation for the battery device by executing a vibration control operation for the engine.

Control device for hybrid vehicle

A control apparatus for a hybrid vehicle which comprises an internal-combustion engine and a motor as a power source, and connects at least one of the internal-combustion engine and the motor to driving wheels of the vehicle through a transmission so as to transmit a driving force to the driving wheels, comprises: a target torque setting device which sets a target torque with respect to a crank end torque, which is a torque at the end of a crank shaft, of the power plant torque output from the power plant being the internal combustion engine and the motor, based on a change of accelerator pedal opening from fully opened to fully closed; and a torque allocation device which allocates the target torque corresponding to the accelerator pedal opening, to an engine torque instruction, being a required value with respect to the output torque from the internal combustion engine, and to a motor torque instruction, being a required value with respect to the output torque from the motor. The generation of torque fluctuations which are not expected by the occupants of the vehicle are suppressed, and a torque which unerringly reflects the driver's intention is output.
