A heat-sensitive recording material and a recording process. The heat-sensitive recording material is excellent in head-matching property and has a good coating surface without coating failure. The heat-sensitive recording material has, on a support, a heat-sensitive recording layer, a protective layer and other layers as necessary. The protective layer contains a specific aliphatic compound derivative having at least a &mdash;CONH&mdash; structure and/or a water-soluble polymer having a specific repeating unit.

Heat-sensitive recording material and heat-sensitive recording process

A heat-sensitive recording material is provided which has an excellent head matching performance and a surface which is coated well without any coating defects. A method for producing the heat-sensitive material is also provided. The heat-sensitive recording material includes a substrate, and a heat-sensitive recording layer and a protective layer disposed on the substrate in that order. The protective layer is formed by applying a coating solution for the protective layer containing a pigment, a binder, and an emulsion of silicone oil dispersed so that an average particle diameter of silicone oil is 0.15 &mgr;m or less. It is preferable that the silicone oil is at least one type of silicone oil selected from the group consisting of ether modified silicone oil, carboxy modified silicone oil and amino modified silicone oil. Further, it is preferable that the silicone oil has a viscosity within a range from 400 to 100,000 cps.

Heat-sensitive recording material and method for producing the same

Disclosed in a heat-sensitive recording material comprising a substrate, a heat-sensitive recording layer disposed on the substrate and a protective layer disposed on the heat-sensitive recording layer, wherein the protective layer contains a pigment containing particles having an average particle diameter of 0.300 .mu.m or less in a portion of 50% by volume in the total volume of the particles as measured by a laser diffraction method and containing 3% or less of particles having a diameter of 1.0 .mu.m or more in a total amount of particles and the surface of the protective layer has a central line value Ra of a surface roughness of 0.3 .mu.m or less in a frequency component having a roughness pitch of 2 to 10 .mu.m of the surface roughness in the entire frequency range. The heat-sensitive recording material does not cause sticking or generation of noise during recording, has an excellent transparency, reduces wear of a thermal head even in recording using a high thermal energy and provides high quality images with stability for a long time.

Heat-sensitive recording material

A thermal-sensitive recording material having reduced illusion and surface gloss when viewed with the light of a light box to provide distinct images having excellent image quality, comprising (a) a transparent support, (b) a thermal-sensitive recording layer formed on one surface of the transparent support, and (c) a light reflection reducing layer formed on the other surface of the transparent support, wherein the chromaticity coordinates according to JIS-Z8701 of the transparent support are within a quadrilateral region having 4 points A(x=0.2805, y=0.3005), B(x=0.2820, y=0.2970), C(x=0.2885, y=0.3015) and D(x=0.2870, y=0.3040) as vertices, and the thermal-sensitive recording material on the side of said light reflection reducing layer has a glossiness of from 1 to 50% at an incident angle of 20.degree..

Thermal-sensitive recording material

A heat-sensitive recording material which is highly transparent and resistant to sticking. The recording material comprises a support, having thereon in the following order, a heat-sensitive recording layer and a protective layer comprising a pigment, a binder and a wax. The wax has a melting point of from 40.degree. C. to 100.degree. C. and said wax comprises wax particles having a 50% volume-average particle diameter of not more than 0.7 .mu.m. Furthermore, the protective layer contains the pigment in an amount of not more than 100 parts per 100 parts by weight of binder.

A heat-sensitive recording material comprising on a support a heat-sensitive layer comprising color-forming component A, color-forming component B which forms a color by reacting with the color-forming component A, and a tricarbocyanine dye having at least two acidic groups, wherein the tricarbocyanine dye has an absorption maximum wavelength of 650 to 1300 nm in the heat-sensitive layer and has an absorption maximum wavelength 50 nm or more longer than that of an aqueous solution of the tricarbocyanine dye.
