In a focus adjustment method for an imaging apparatus, that, in order to focus on a single or a plurality of point light sources, acquires plurality of image data while moving a focus lens in an optical axis direction and carries out focus adjustment based on the image data, brightness values of pixels within a given evaluation region are detected based on the image data, high brightness evaluation values are calculated based on the brightness values, symmetry of the high brightness evaluation values are calculated for movement of the focus lens, and focus adjustment is carried out based on an extreme value calculated based on the symmetry.

Imaging apparatus and focus adjustment method

A motion detection apparatus includes an inertia motion detection section which detects an inertia motion of an object to be measured by using at least one of an acceleration sensor or an angular velocity sensor. An image pickup section which picks up a peripheral image of the object to be measured. An image comparison section which compares images picked up at different points in time by the image pickup section. A camera position and posture acquiring section which detects a position and a posture of the object to be measured by using a result of comparing the images by the image comparison section. A spatial position and posture acquiring section which detects a position and a posture in space of the object to be measured on the basis of information obtained by the inertia motion detection section and the camera position and posture acquiring section.

Motion detection apparatus

A movement detection device includes a self-sustaining movement detection unit which is attached to an operator's body and detects a movement or a posture of an attached part of the operator's body. An image pickup section picks up a projected image from an optical system which simultaneously inputs a peripheral image. An image conversion section converts an all azimuth image picked up by the image pickup section into a cylindrical panorama image. An image recognition section includes cylindrical panorama images at different times. A camera posture estimation section acquires movement information of the image pickup section based on a comparison result of the image recognition section. A space sensor posture estimation section acquires a position/posture of the attached part in a space based on information of the self-sustaining movement detection unit and the camera posture estimation section.

Movement detection device and communication apparatus

There is disclosed an operation input apparatus comprising a posture sensor attached to a finger, and a command generator for generating a command based on an output of the posture sensor. The posture sensor is attached to all of a first link portion, second link portion and third link portion of at least one finger.

Operation input apparatus using sensor attachable to operator's hand

An operation input device includes a back-of-hand detection section, spatial coordinate computation section, finger posture detection section, finger shape estimation section, hand shape estimation section, and operation input analysis section. The back-of-hand detection section is mounted on the back of the hand of an operator to detect the motion or posture of the back of the hand. The spatial coordinate computation section obtains the position or posture of the back of the hand in a three-dimensional coordinate system on the basis of an output from the back-of-hand detection section. The finger posture detection section is mounted near the tip of a finger of the operator to detect the posture of the finger. The finger shape estimation section computes the posture of the finger with respect to the back of the hand of the operator from an output from the finger posture detection section by using an output from the spatial coordinate computation section. The hand shape estimation section obtains the overall shape of the hand of the operator on the basis of the outputs from the back-of-hand detection section and the finger shape estimation section. The operation input analysis section generates a command by a predetermined scheme on the basis of the outputs from the hand shape estimation section and the spatial coordinate computation section.

Operation input device applied to three-dimensional input device

A display apparatus, which can be mounted on the head portion of a man, includes a two-dimensional display unit for displaying an image. A projection optical system projects the image displayed on the two-dimensional display unit onto the retina of the eyeball of a user. A shutter is arranged in front of the eyeball of the user. A detector detects at least a forward inclination of motions of the head portion of the user. A control unit controls the shutter in accordance with the output from the detector to switch the shutter between a light transmission state and a light shielding state. A housing incorporates and holds the two-dimensional display unit, the projection optical system, the shutter, and the detector to be mountable on the head portion of the user.
