An active agent capable of reducing quinone reductase 2 activity is for use in improvement of cognition in a subject. Such an active agent can be a nucleic acid molecule that reduces the gene expression level of quinone reductase 2 or an inhibitor of quinone reductase 2 activity. A pharmaceutical composition can contain the active agent or a vector containing the active agent.

Methods for improving cognitive function via modulation of quinone reductase 2

A method for improving a cognitive function in a subject comprising administering to said subject an active agent reducing PKR-like endoplasmic reticulum kinase (PERK) activity is provided.

Genetic or pharmacological reduction of PERK enhances cortical- and hippocampus-dependent cognitive function

An active agent capable of reducing quinone reductase 2 activity, for use in improvement of cognition in a subject is provided. A vector comprising a nucleic acid molecule that reduces the gene expression level of quinone reductase 2 and a pharmaceutical composition comprising an active agent capable of reducing quinone reductase 2 activity or said vector are provided as well.
