An analysis method of analyzing a discharge phenomenon in an information processing apparatus having a memory includes calculating differences in potential between nodes on a first surface of a meshed simulation model and the corresponding nodes on a second surface thereof based on a predetermined amount of charge of each node before the discharge and the permittivity of each element of the simulation model; storing information concerning a pair of nodes having the difference in potential which exceeds a Paschen voltage determined from the distance between the nodes; and analyzing an amount of charge moved due to the discharge and electric potential distribution after the discharge based on the stored information and the amount of charge of each node before the discharge and storing the analyzed amount of charge and the electric potential distribution.

Analysis method, program for performing the method, and information processing apparatus

A method for obtaining a solution for a structure to be analyzed is disclosed. The method operates by dividing the structure into two or more substructures, and preparing at least two different calculation techniques for calculating a solution for each of the substructures from boundary conditions. One of the calculation techniques is selected separately for each of the substructures according to characteristics of analysis conditions corresponding to each of the substructures. A solution is separately calculated for each of the substructures according to boundary conditions by using the selected calculation technique, until the solutions for all of the substructures fall within respective ranges that are predetermined in accordance with each of the substructures. The set of solutions for the substructures is then used as the solution for the structure. A corresponding system and computer program are also disclosed.

Charged particle trajectory analysis through element analysis

A magnetic recording and/or reproducing apparatus having a magnetic head which is movable relative to a magnetic recording medium to record or reproduce information. The magnetic head is moved in a direction to approach the magnetic recording medium or in the reverse direction to that direction to periodically alter the amount of projection of the magnetic head toward the magnetic recording medium in synchronism with a cycle of relative movement of the magnetic head to the magnetic recording medium.

Magnetic recording and/or reproducing apparatus having an adjustable head

A thin-film magnetic head which can simultaneously trace two tracks is disclosed. This head comprises: a pair of magnetic gap portions; and a pair of magnetic thin-film layers each of which includes a magnetic pole portion in contact with the magnetic gap portion. A distance between these layers increases as they go away from the magnetic pole portions. Each of the layers includes an expanded portion having a cross sectional area in the passing direction of the magnetic fluxes which is larger than a cross sectional area in the passing direction of the magnetic fluxes at the magnetic pole portion.

Thin-film magnetic head

The present invention is directed to improvements in a perpendicular magnetic recording-reproducing head. One of the improvements comprises the use of a magneto-resistive effect element to form the main pole of the magnetic head. This feature of the invention enables a stable and faithful reproduction of information recorded in a magnetic recording medium up to the shortest wavelength and to obtain a sufficiently large reproducing output signal. Another improvement comprises the use of such magneto-resistive effect elements in layers. The multilayer structure permits production of a large reproducing output and also an optimum S/N ratio even if the width of track is small.

Magneto-resistive effect type magnetic head

A process for making magnetic reluctance effect type magnetic heads comprises forming the magnetic sensor, first lead and second lead sections in series by use of the same material. The noise in the magnetic head is reduced, yet the output is increased by making the first lead section of a width larger than that of the magnetic sensor and second lead sections. The reproducing sensitivity of the magnetic head is increased by forming a plurality of magnetic sensor sections in series within a rectangular area. The control of the magnetic characteristics of the head are controlled for providing less dispersion by providing a substrate on which a magnetic reluctance effect type material varying in electric resistance in response to any magnetic field is formed into a film, the substrate being optionally etched by the use of photolithography to form the magnetic sensor sections, the first lead section and the second lead section on the substrate in given configurations.
