A battery pack includes a plurality of battery units mutually connected in parallel, each including a cell group in which one or two or more secondary cells are connected in series, and a first current control element that is connected in series with this cell group, a first control means that controls the charging/discharging current for each battery unit by controlling the operation of the first current control element included in each of the battery unit; a voltage measurement means that measures the voltage of the cell group or cells included in each of the battery unit, and a diagnosis means that diagnoses a deterioration level or a fault of each battery unit on the basis of the voltage of the cell group or cells measured by the voltage measurement means.

According to one embodiment, a supporting apparatus includes a supporting portion and a suction module. The supporting portion is configured to support a wall of an electronic device. The electronic device includes a first surface with a honeycomb rib protrusion. The supporting portion includes a second surface including a first groove and an inlet. The first groove is configured to receive the rib in a state in which the supporting portion supports the wall. The inlet is configured to open toward a first face at a position within a hexagonal ring-like part of the first groove. The suction module is configured to take in air through the inlet.

A fuel cell stack start method is to provide in which without relying on oxidation and reduction condition of an anode, an output reduction of the fuel cell stack can be avoided. In the start method of a solid polymer type fuel cell stack that is comprised of a separator including an anode flow channel for flowing a fuel, another separator including a cathode flow channel for feeding an oxidant and electrodes and an electrolyte interposed between the separators, the method is characterized by performing successively a first step of feeding the fuel to the fuel cell stack under a condition that a cathode is covered by generated water, a second step of forming an oxide layer on the cathode, a third step of feeding the oxidant gas to the fuel cell stack and a fourth step of extracting load current from the fuel cell stack.

A fuel cell according to the present invention comprises a membrane electrode assembly, a bipolar plate for guiding a reaction gas to the membrane electrode assembly, two layers of coolant flow fields formed on the bipolar plane opposite to another plane on which a reaction gas flow field is formed, and an interlayer separation plate; wherein the interlayer separation plate separates the two layers of coolant flow fields and has permeability or jet orifices so as to allow a coolant to pass through.

A fuel cell system for power generation comprising a solid polymer type fuel cell having a solid polymer electrolyte membrane for separating an anode gas and a cathode gas, a resistor, an inverter, a switch for switching the inverter and the resister with respect to the fuel cell, the switch and the inverter, a supply conduit and discharge conduit for the anode gas and the cathode gas, and a supply vale and a discharge valve. When a molar ratio of the hydrogen contained in the anode gas to oxygen contained in the cathode gas becomes 2/1 or less at the time of the stop of the fuel cell, the supply valve for air is closed.

A separator for a fuel cell, comprising a planar panel formed therein with a plurality of manifolds for passing reactive fluid or cooling medium through adjacent cell, and a pair of conductive passage boards superposed with one another, interposing therebetween the planar panel, the passage boards being formed therein with a plurality of meandering through channels for distributing the reactive fluid or the cooling medium from the manifolds, wherein the planar panel being formed therein with slits through which channel defining walls of the meandering through channels of the fluid passages are electrically connected with each other.

Separator and fuel cell using thereof

A separator includes an electrically conductive flat plate and two electrically conductive channel plates superposed on each other with the electrically conductive flat plate interposed therebetween. The separator includes a plurality of manifolds for passing a reaction fluid to an adjacent cell are provided in the electrically conductive flat plate, and a plurality of zigzag or straight through-channels for permitting the flowing of the reaction fluid from the manifolds are formed in each of the two channel plates. The separator includes the through-channels in any one of the two electrically conductive channel plates disposed so that they are partially overlapped with the manifolds in the electrically conductive flat plate, and the through-channels in the other electrically conductive channel plate are formed to be partially larger than the contour of the electrically conductive flat plate.

Disclosed is a fuel cell having two or more stacked units each containing a first separator in which a manifold and fuel gas passage section are formed, first seal sheet which seals the first separator periphery, membrane electrode assembly, second seal sheet which seals a second separator periphery and second separator in which a manifold and oxidizing gas passage section are formed, in this order, wherein each of the fuel gas passage section and oxidizing gas passage section is in communication with the corresponding manifold. Comb teeth structure having comb teeth are provided between the fuel gas passage section and manifold and between the oxidizing gas passage section and manifold in a diffusion layer on the membrane electrode assembly, wherein slits spaces formed between the comb teeth are in communication with the diffusion layer.
