A calibration method applicable for an automation machining apparatus includes building a first stereoscopic characteristic model corresponding to an object, obtaining a stereoscopic image of the object, building a second stereoscopic characteristic model corresponding to the object based on the stereoscopic image, obtaining at least one error parameter corresponding to the second stereoscopic characteristic model by comparing the second stereoscopic characteristic model with the first stereoscopic characteristic model, and calibrating a machining parameter of the automation machining apparatus based on the at least one error parameter.

Calibration method and automation machining apparatus using the same

A depth detection method includes the following steps. First, first and second video data are shot. Next, the first and second video data are compared to obtain initial similarity data including r&#xd7;c&#xd7;d initial similarity elements, wherein r, c and d are natural numbers greater than 1. Then, an accumulation operation is performed, with each similarity element serving as a center, according to a reference mask to obtain an iteration parameter. Next, n times of iteration update operations are performed on the initial similarity data according to the iteration parameter to generate updated similarity data. Then, it is judged whether the updated similarity data satisfy a character verification condition. If yes, the updated similarity data is converted into depth distribution data.

Depth detection method and system using thereof

A method for recognizing three-dimensional control points and a computer readable medium using the same are disclosed. The method for recognizing three-dimensional control points comprises the following steps. A depth information item corresponding to an image captured by an image capturing apparatus is received. A three-dimensional block information item corresponding to a three-dimensional block is generated according to the depth information. At least one reference plane is generated according to the depth information. At least one connection group is generated according to the three-dimensional block information and the reference plane. A three-dimensional block nearest to the image capturing apparatus is selected as a control point from the connection group.

A system for estimating a location of an occluded skeleton, a method for estimating a location of an occluded skeleton and a method for reconstructing an occluded skeleton are provided. The method for estimating a location of an occluded skeleton comprises the following steps: Firstly, a trace of a reference central point of a body is estimated according to a plurality of continuously moving images. Next, a human movement state is estimated according to the trace and a motion information of the continuously moving images free of skeleton occlusion. Then, a possible range of the occluded skeleton for maintaining human balance is calculated according to the human movement state. Afterwards, a current motion level of the occluded skeleton is predicted according to a historic motion information of the occluded skeleton. Lastly, the location of the occluded skeleton is estimated according to the current motion level and the possible range.

An object-end positioning method is provided for positioning lower ends of two limbs of an object. In the method, a foreground processing is performed on an original image to obtain a foreground image. A number of turning points are obtained according to the foreground image, wherein connection of the turning points forms a polygonal curve. Each turning point is classified to be a convex or concave point according to an included angle between lines connecting the turning point to two adjacent turning points. A number of selected convex points and selected concave points are selected. Two of the selected convex points are selected as two temporary ends. Connection of the two temporary ends and a selected concave point located between the two temporary ends forms a triangle. Two positioning ends for positioning the lower ends of the two limbs of the object are determined according to the two temporary ends.

Object-end positioning method and system

A method for tracking positions of human extremities is disclosed. A left image of a first extremity portion is retrieved using a first picturing device and an outline candidate position of the first extremity portion is obtained according to feature information of the left image. A right image of the first extremity portion is retrieved using a second picturing device and a depth candidate position of the first extremity portion is obtained according to depth information of the right image. Geometry relations between the outline candidate position and the depth candidate position and a second extremity portion of a second extremity position are calculated to determine whether a current extremity position of the first extremity portion is required to be updated.
