The invention refers to a reactor and a method respectively for performing, by means of solid reaction members, a biological or chemical transformation, or physical or chemical trapping from, or release of agents to, a fluidic media, and a subsequent cleaning of the reactor, said reactor comprising a vessel () in which a transformation device () has been mounted. The invention also refers to a reactor kit comprising such reactor. The reactor comprises at least one nozzle () arranged on the longitudinal inner wall of the vessel (). The at least one nozzle () is arranged to direct a flow of a cleaning fluid (CF) in a direction towards a longitudinal centre axis (L) of a flow distributor () arranged in the vessel ().

The invention refers to a flow-promoting device (&#x2033;) for performing a biological or chemical transformation, or physical or chemical trapping from, or release of agents to, a fluidic medium. The flow-promoting device (&#x2033;) comprises a ferromagnetic material () and a retaining structure (&#x2033;), the retaining structure having a compartment (&#x2033;) defined by a permeable material (&#x2033;). The retaining structure (&#x2033;) comprises a top wall (&#x2033;) and a circumferential side wall (&#x2033;), wherein the top wall (&#x2033;) and the circumferential side wall (&#x2033;) is formed mainly by said permeable material (&#x2033;). The compartment (&#x2033;) of the retaining structure (&#x2033;) is arranged to contain at least one fluid-permeable solid reaction member.

Flow-promoting device, a reactor arrangement and the use of such flow-promoting device

The present invention relates to the field of biological and chemical transformation as well as physical and chemical trapping. More specifically, the invention relates to a new reactor arrangement for performing, by means of at least one solid reaction member, biological or chemical transformation, or physical or chemical trapping from or release of agents to, a fluidic medium. The reactor arrangement is comprised of an auxiliary reactor having a transformation device and a main reactor. The invention also provides an auxiliary reactor adapted for being connected to a main reactor, a method of using such a reactor arrangement, as well as a process involving the reactor arrangement.

Auxiliary reactor for biological or chemical transformation

The present invention relates to a new reactor for performing, by means of at least one solid reaction member, biological or chemical transformation, or physical or chemical trapping from, or release of agents to, a fluidic medium, which reactor is comprised of a reactor vessel comprising means for enhancing fluidic shear stress, and a transformation device operatively mounted in said reactor vessel. Reactor for biological or chemical transformation

The invention concerns a method for manufacturing of an object having phosphorescent properties, comprising the steps of providing an object having a surface made from aluminum or from an aluminum-based alloy and forming a layer of porous aluminum (hydr)oxide at said surface. The invention is characterized in that the method comprises the step of contacting the layer of porous aluminum (hydr)oxide with one or several solutions containing metal dopant ions such as to allow the metal dopant ions to bind to the layer of porous aluminum (hydr)oxide, wherein at least one of said solutions contains ions of at least one element selected from a first group consisting of calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg), strontium (Sr) and barium (Ba), and wherein at least one of said solutions contains ions of europium (Eu). Method for manufacturing of an object having phosphorescent properties

A device is provided for performing chemical transformation in a fluid, with a flow distributor having at least one fluid medium inlet, at least one fluid medium outlet, and at least one confinement wherein the chemical transformation is performed; and a means for rotating, rocking, wagging, or oscillating the device. At least one confinement may be equipped with a provision for providing heat, cooling, sound, light or other types of radiation, such provision being contacted to an external source through an actuator shaft. The flow distributor may be provided with sectors connected with the centrally located fluid medium inlet and a designated peripheral fluid medium outlet. The means for rotating, rocking, wagging, or oscillating the device may be an element producing magnetic fields or a shaft mechanically connected to an external actuating device.

Device for performing a chemical transformation in fluidic media

A device is provided for performing chemical transformation in a fluid, with a flow distributor having at least one fluid medium inlet, at least one fluid medium outlet, and at least one confinement wherein the chemical transformation is performed; and a means for rotating, rocking, wagging, or oscillating the device. The present invention provides monolithic supports produced from linear aliphatic polyamides. It also provides a method of producing said monolithic supports by dissolution/precipitation of linear aliphatic polyamides. Finally, the invention provides using said supports in chromatography as well as chromatography columns containing said supports.

A novel open tube with a zwitterionic betaine polymer layer can be prepared by initiated grafting polymerization. This open tube can be used for separating inorganic anions, peptides and proteins. A capillary electrophoresis method and a capillary chromatography method use the novel open tube. There are methods for manufacturing the novel open tube.

A porous silica particle suitable can be used in zwitterionic high performance liquid chromatography. The particle comprises covalently bound zwitterionic groups grafted through a polymerization reaction. A hydrophilic column packing material suitable for use as a stationary phase in zwitterionic high performance liquid chromatography may comprise porous silica particles. The particles may comprise covalently bound zwitterionic groups. Methods for manufacturing and applying the silica particles exist.

The present invention provides porous monoliths with high flow permeability that can be produced by polymerising and divinylbenzene in the presence of an initiator, a carboxy-functionalized nitroxide stable free radical and polymeric porogens. The monoliths produced with these stable free radicals functionalized with carboxylic groups feature porosities very different from those produced by polymerizations involving other SFRs, characterized by very large surface areas in combination with relatively large through-pores. The invention also provides a method for producing the monoliths, a column containing the monoliths and an assay method using the column.
