A separating apparatus for separating liquid from gas has a housing with a connection device for connecting to a connection head of a machine along a connection axis. The housing has a gas inlet and a gas outlet surrounding the connection axis. A separating medium inside the housing separates gas inlet from gas outlet. A liquid collection chamber inside the housing at a clean gas side surrounds connection axis and gas outlet. A liquid drain leads out of the liquid collection chamber. Gas outlet and liquid drain lead out of the housing at a side provided with the connection device. A pipe section arranged inside the housing surrounds circumferentially the connection axis and forms at least partially a radially inner boundary of the liquid collection chamber. The pipe section leads to the gas outlet. The pipe section is functionally separated from mechanical force-transmitting connection elements of the connection device.

A filter insert to be installed in a housing of a liquid separator has a hollow cylindrical separation element in the form of a coalescer for separating a liquid from a gas flow. A flange at an end face of the hollow cylindrical separation element can be arranged exchangeably between a cover and a cylindrical body of the housing. The flange has a support surface at a radially outer rim of the flange to be supported on an upper support region of the housing facing the cover of the housing. The flange has a guide structure determining a position of the flange on the upper support region of the housing. The guide structure is to receive a counter structure of the liquid separator. The guide structure has an axial elevation projecting away from the end face of the separation element. A liquid separator is provided with such a filter insert.

A coalescence separator for separating liquid droplets from a gas flow is provided with a multilayer structure of a coalescence filter medium as a finest stage of the coalescence separator. The multilayer structure of the coalescence filter medium is arranged between a gas inlet and a gas outlet and surrounds a cavity. A product of an air permeability of the coalescence filter medium and a grammage of the coalescence filter medium amounts to at least 16 g/m*s and maximally 100 g/m*s. The coalescence filter medium is a glass fiber paper. The coalescence separator is used, for example, as a main oil separator in screw compressors.

The housing cover has a housing cover thread correlated with the first gas passage. The housing cover thread is to be screwed to a coupling element thread of the coupling element. A fluid discharge channel is arranged within the coupling element for discharging separated liquid from the separating device. The housing cover thread and the coupling element thread, in a position of use of the separating device, are connected substantially seal-tightly to each other.

The filter insert has a main separator element with ring-shaped support body and cylindrical coalescing filter medium with coalescer material removing fluid from the gas stream. A separation device for separating fluid from a gas stream has a housing with housing corpus and housing cover non-detachably connected to the housing corpus. A hollow cylindrical filter insert is received in the housing in a flow path of the gas stream from a raw gas inlet to a clean gas outlet. The filter insert has first and second end discs at first and second axial end face sides. The filter insert has a main separator element with hollow cylindrical coalescing filter medium with coalescer material for removing fluid from the gas stream that is flowing radially through the main separator element. A preliminary separator element having a coalescing filter medium with coalescer material is arranged in the flow path of the gas stream between the raw gas inlet and the filter insert for removing fluid from the gas stream.

A separation element for a pressure accumulator system for separating liquid from a media stream is provided with a hollow cylindrical filter body. The filter body has a support body and a coalescing stage filter medium radially outwardly of the support body. The filter body is flowed through radially by the media stream and separates a dirty side from a clean side of the separation element. First and second end disks are disposed on opposite sides of the filter body. A receiving recess is arranged centrally on the first end disk and is open toward the filter body interior. The receiving recess supports the separation element on a central tube of the pressure accumulator system. The second end disk has an outlet opening. Liquid that has been separated by the filter body from the media stream drains via the outlet opening of the second end disk from the separation element.
