A device for cooling a metal rolling stock () rolled in a rolling train, having multiple cooling devices (), to which water () is supplied via a respective branch line () and by means of which the water () is applied to the rolling stock (). The branch lines () are equipped with a respective valve (), by means of which the water flow flowing through the respective branch line () is adjusted. Each of the valves () is paired with a drive (), via which the respective valve () is actuated. The cooling devices () form multiple groups, each of which is paired with a dedicated pressure vessel () in a proprietary manner. Each pressure vessel () is connected to a respective feed line () at a respective connection point (), and the water () is supplied to the branch lines () of the cooling devices () of the corresponding group via said feed line. When viewed in the flow direction of the water (), each connection point () is arranged upstream of the valves () of the respective group of cooling devices ().

Cooling section with valves and pressure vessels for preventing pressure shocks

A control device for a section of a hot rolling mill is supplied with respective primary data for a plurality of rolling materials and respective preliminary target values for the target variables of the respective rolling material. The respective primary data describes the respective rolling material before being supplied to the section of the hot rolling mill. The respective preliminary target values of the target variables describe a desired target state of the respective rolling material after passing through the section of the hot rolling mill. At least one of the target variables is a particular target variable, whereby the control device determines a respective final target value in such a way that it changes the respective preliminary target value by a respective offset. The respective offset is determined independently of the primary data and the other particular target variables and the normal target variables for the respective rolling material.

Determining a sensitivity of a target variable of a rolling material from an operating variable of a hot rolling mill

A method for cooling a rolled product in a cooling section which is located upstream of a finishing train of a hot rolling mill. The cooling section includes a cooling device which can deliver a coolant flow of a coolant onto a rolled product surface of the rolled product. In the method, a coolant flow is delivered, by means of each cooling device and in each cooling section pass, onto the rolled product surface, which flow is set to a set value that is assigned to the relevant cooling device for the cooling section pass. The set values for a cooling section pass are determined in a simulation of the cooling section pass so that surface temperatures, determined in the simulation, of the rolled product surface upon leaving active regions of the cooling device do not exceed a minimum value for a surface temperature of the rolled product surface.

Cooling a rolled product upstream of a finishing train of a hot rolling mill

A cooling section () is situated in a rolling line or upstream or downstream of the rolling line. A hot metal rolled material () is cooled in the cooling section. A control device () of the cooling section () dynamically determines setpoint actuation states (S*) for control valves () situated in supply lines () and actuates the control valves () accordingly. Main flows (F) of a liquid, water-based coolant () are supplied to application devices () of the cooling section () via the supply lines () in accordance with the actuation. The supply lines () conduct the main flows (F) to buffer regions () of the application devices (). Proceeding from there, cooling flows (F) of the coolant () are applied to the hot rolled material (). The control device () also dynamically determines setpoint actuation states (S*) for active devices () and actuates the active devices () accordingly. The active devices () conduct additional flows (F) of a further medium () to the buffer regions () via further supply lines () in accordance with the actuation. The cooling flows (F) depend on both the main flows (F) and the additional flows (F). The additional flows (F) are positive or negative depending on the actuation state (S*) of the active devices (). The control device () adjusts the additional flows (F) by correspondingly actuating the active devices () such that the cooling flows (F) are as identical as possible to setpoint flows (F*) of the coolant () at all times.

Application devices for cooling sections, having a second connection

A flat rolled metal product () is first hot-rolled in at least one rolling stand (), then fed to a cooling zone () arranged downstream of the rolling stand () and finally cooled in the cooling zone (). During the rolling in the rolling stand (), the flat rolled product () is oriented horizontally. Before running into the cooling zone () and/or when running into the cooling zone (), the flat rolled product () is turned by a first acute angle (a) about an axis running in the transporting direction (x), so that after completion of the turning about the axis the flat rolled product () is oriented obliquely. The flat rolled product () is cooled in the cooling zone () while it is oriented obliquely. The product () is then returned to horizontal orientation.

Cooling of an obliquely positioned flat rolled product

Device for cooling flat rolled material with a liquid coolant has at least one cooling bar, which is arranged above the conveying path and to which the liquid coolant is fed. A plurality of outlet tubes have, in a flow direction of the liquid coolant, an initial portion, which proceeds from the inlet opening and extends upward, a middle portion, which adjoins the initial portion, and an end portion, which adjoins the middle portion and extends downward and to the output opening. The middle portion contains a vertex at which the coolant flowing through the outlet tube in question reaches a highest point. The outlet openings are located above the cooling bar. A height distance (h) of the inlet opening from the vertex is at least twice as large, in particular at least three times as large, as a height distance (h) of the outlet opening from the vertex.

Cooling of flat rolled material without post-running of the header

A cooling section arranged within, upstream of, or downstream of a rolling train is provided. A hot-rolled product made of metal is cooled by the cooling section. Application devices of the cooling section are supplied with an actual current of a water-based liquid coolant via a supply line and a pump. The actual current of the coolant is applied to the hot-rolled product by means of the application device. The hot-rolled product is transported within the cooling section in a horizontal transport direction during the application of the coolant. A controller of the cooling section dynamically ascertains a target actuation state for each pump on the basis of a target current of the coolant to be applied onto the hot-rolled product by the application device and controls the pump in a corresponding manner such that the actual current delivered by each pump approximates the target current as much as possible.

In a cooling path, hot rolled material composed of metal is cooled. The cooling path has a pump which extracts coolant from a coolant reservoir and feeds said coolant via a line system to a number of coolant outlets which are controlled by means of valves positioned upstream of the coolant outlets. A control device of the cooling path determines activation states (Ci) for the valves for a respective point in time taking into consideration coolant flows (Wi) which are intended to be discharged via the coolant outlets at the respective point in time, in conjunction with a working pressure (pA) of the coolant prevailing at the inlet side of the valve. By adding the coolant flows (Wi), said control device determines a total coolant flow (WG).

Control of the water economy of a cooling path

A cooling system () for cooling metal rolling stock. A plurality of cooling bars () for applying a coolant onto the rolling stock, one dedicated coolant supply line () for each cooling bar (), and a feed system () for guiding the coolant to the coolant supply lines (). Each cooling bar () is connected to the feed system () via a dedicated coolant supply line (). A bypass line () for discharging a coolant flow from the feed system (), is connected on the input side to a connection element () of the feed system ().

Cooling system for cooling metal rolling stock

As sections of a rolled product () pass through a cooling path (), they are initially cooled in a first cooling phase by front cooling devices (). The sections are then not cooled in a subsequent second cooling phase. They are finally cooled again in a subsequent third cooling phase, by rear cooling devices () of the cooling path (). A control device () of the cooling path receives in each case an initial energy value (EA) exhibited by the sections before they pass through the cooling path (). The control device furthermore receives a target energy (E*) and a target enthalpy (E*). The control device () determines a first target cooling medium profile (K*) on the basis of the initial energy value (EA) and the target energy (E*). The control device controls the front cooling devices () in accordance with the first target cooling medium profile (K*) while the respective section is passing through the front cooling devices (). The control device () determines a second target cooling medium profile (K) on the basis of an expected enthalpy for the respective section in the second cooling phase and the target enthalpy (E*). The control device controls the rear cooling devices () in accordance with the second target cooling medium profile (K*) while the respective section of the rolled product () is passing through the rear cooling devices ().

Cooling path with twofold cooling to a respective target value

A method is provided for cooling sheet metal using a cooling section having multiple coolant dispensing devices for cooling upper and lower faces of a sheet metal. The cooling achieves a predefined target state of the sheet metal at a reference point at and/or after the exit from the cooling section, wherein coolant dispensing for a first and a second coolant dispensing device is determined, wherein the first and the second coolant dispensing devices are arranged opposite the sheet metal. Because the coolant dispensing for the first and second coolant dispensing devices is determined based on a predefined flow of heat to be dissipated from the sheet metal side that faces the respective coolant dispensing device, with a surface temperature of the respective sheet metal side being taken into account, the flatness of plate that is produced can be increased further with a simultaneously high throughput of the plate rolling train.

Method for cooling sheet metal by means of a cooling section, cooling section and control device for a cooling section

A flat rolling stock of metal passes through roll stands of a finishing train, and a cooling section, in succession. Initial values which characterize the energy content of rolling stock points are determined, at the latest, when said rolling stock points enters into the finishing train. The rolling stock is tracked as it passes through the finishing train and cooling section. The initial values, trackings, and energy content influences are used to determine expected values for the energy content of the rolling stock. The energy content expected for a predetermined location, which lies between the first roll stand and the first cooling device of the cooling section is ascertained and used to determine a target energy content progression, from the predetermined location until the rolling stock passes out of the cooling section. The cooling devices are controlled based on the target energy content progression.

Method for controlling a hot strip rolling line

Before a first strip point is fed into a production line, an actual energy content at a location in front of the production line and a setpoint energy content at a location behind the production line are received for a first strip point, second strip point, and third strip point. The third strip point, followed by the first strip point, followed by the second strip point, are fed into the production line. A command variable for the first strip point and second strip point(s) is determined prior to feeding in the first strip point. Each command variable is determined based on (a) the actual value and the setpoint value of the strip point currently entering the production line, and (b) the actual value and the setpoint value of at least one strip point having already entered.

Operating method for a production line with prediction of the command speed

In a method and a control device for adjusting a state of a rolling stock, particularly a near-net strip, defined at least by an out-of-parallel condition and/or a curvature of the rolling stock, the rolling stock is transitioned from an initial into an intermediate state by a roll stand and by impressing a stress onto the rolling stock by an additional processing device, and the rolling stock is transitioned from the intermediate into a final state by at least one processing aggregate. By determining whether rolling stock should be fed into the at least one processing aggregate, the intermediate state requiring a non-zero out-of-parallel condition and/or curvature in order to achieve a predetermined final state, and the roll stand and/or the processing device are controlled and/or regulated as a function thereof to adjust the required intermediate state, the shape reliability of an ultimately parallel, non-curved rolling stock can be increased.
