For the mounting of remote control apparatuses and loads in spaces which cannot be traversed, as for example, hot cells in industrial nuclear plants, an apparatus which is able to mount great loads and also manipulating apparatuses in such manner that only small forces and moments are supported in the resting position and in manipulation. is provided which consists essentially of a crane bridge having a crane carriage thereon and on a shaft there is mounted a crane hook roll. This shaft is connected with the crane bridge by cables and one or more telescopic arms connected to one or more travelling carriages.

There are needed containers having an n-shielding for the transportation and storage or radioactive materials, especially irradiated fuel elements, which containers still remain intact even in extreme accidents and guarantees a good dissipation of heat. This is attained with containers which there is additionally arranged an n-shielding layer of a graphite material between the base body and the inner covering.

Fuel, fertile material and/or absorber material containing particles for fuel and/or absorber elements in nuclear reactors are coated by a process comprising introducing thermally cleavable gases in the reaction space heated to above 1000.degree. C. of a fluidized bed unit with the help of a gas inlet nozzle cooled with a cooling medium and having an elongated inlet tube, decomposiing the cleavable gases after leaving the nozzle, depositing the decomposition products on fuel, fertile material or absorber particles present in the fluidized bed and bringing these coated particles into fuel elements or absorber elements. The cooling medium is solely gaseous and only the portion of the inlet tube for the nozzle tips of the gas inlet nozzles within the axis are cooled and the heat glow penetrating from outside is reduced by heat insulation.
