A dental X-ray system includes a radiation source used to produce X-rays and disposed in an X-ray head. The system has an electronic sensor used to detect X-rays. The sensor can be detachably connected to a central unit of the X-ray system by a plug-in connection. The electronic control system for the sensor is integrated into a plug connected thereto by an external connection cable and is associated with the sensor, thereby enabling a simple exchange between two sensors. The system can include several sensors that can be operated parallel to each other.

The invention relates to an optical inspection apparatus comprising an illuminating means which has a linear light source (11) and a concave cylindrical mirror (10) which forms an image of the light source (11), with the cylindrical axis of the cylindrical mirror extending essentially parallel to the light source (11) in order to generate an illuminated strip (31) on a web (12) to be monitored, with the illuminated strip preferably extending over the entire width of the web (12). By means of an optical system (24) a light receiving means forms an image of an inspection line (32) extending on the material web (12) at the center of the illuminated strip (31) on a row-like photoreceiver arrangement (25), so that light emerging from the material web (12) is detected. The photoreceiver arrangement (25) is connected to an electronic processing circuit (26). The cylindrical mirror (10) which forms an image of the linear light source (11) has circumferentially extending grooves (17) arranged alongside one another in the cylindrical surface.

Optical inspection apparatus

The invention relates to an optical scanning apparatus for the seeking of faults on throughmoving material webs (29) and comprises at least one light source, a mirror wheel (12) arranged in a housing (13) which periodically deflects a light beam produced from the light source in order to generate a scanning beam with which the material web (29) can be scanned transverse to its direction of through-movement (B) along a scanning line (21). A light deflecting device (16) is provided in the housing (13), is arranged after the mirror wheel (12) and brings about a multiple folding of the scanning beam path out of the plane of the fan of scanning beams. The mirror wheel (12) is arranged in the housing (13) with its axis of rotation (14) above one end of the scanning line (21'), with the housing with the optical components (25, 16) arranged therein forming a main scanning module (10). An auxiliary scanning module (11) with a build-on housing (17) can be mounted on the housing (13) of the main scanning module (10) at the side associated with the mirror wheel (12), with a second light source and a second light deflecting means (19) being provided in the build-on housing. In this arrangement the optical components (19, 25) of the auxiliary module (11) are arranged essentially in mirror symmetry to the optical components (16, 25) of the main module. (FIG. 3)

Optical scanning appartaus for seeking faults on moving material webs

A method and also an apparatus is described for the direct optical detection of the roughness profile of the material surface (10) in which a light bead (14) is generated on the material surface (10) and the reflected light is passed to a light receiver arrangement (16). The angle of reflection of the reflected light and thus the respective surface inclination value is determined for each scanned point of the material surface (10). To determine the angle of reflection the direction of the center of gravity of the scattered reflected light is formed in each case. The desired roughness profile is subsequently reconstructed from the inclination values that are obtained.

Method and apparatus for the optical detection of the roughness profile

An optical web monitoring device is described for which a directed illumination is realized by means of a mirror strip which fully illuminates the pupil of the camera objective of a diode row camera with the image of the illuminating pupil. All contrasting methods can thus be used also for the finding of surface faults in running webs. Several cameras or one camera with pupil division and two diode rows can be simultaneously illuminated using one illuminating device.

An optical scanning apparatus for plane surfaces (13) having a laser light source (20), a light deflecting means (16) illuminated by the laser beam, a telecentric image forming element (15) and a light receiving means. Parallel to the scanning line (11) generated by the light deflecting means (16) and the telecentric image forming element (15) there is arranged, at the angle of regular reflection, an image forming retroreflector (12; 38,39) which forms an image of the light bead running along the scanning line (11) on itself.

Optical scanning apparatus for detecting faults on a surface

An optical surface inspection apparatus for material webs comprises an illuminating means (11) for generating a strip of light (12) on the surface (19) to be inspected and a light receiving means (13) which receives the light emitted (diffusely reflected) from the surface region illuminating by the strip of light (12) and directs it to a photoreceiving arrangement, which delivers a signal representative of web faults to an electronic processing circuit (16). The light receiving means (13) has at least one row camera (14) which receives light remitted from a line illuminated by the strip of light (12) and forms an image of the line on the diode row (15). The light receiving means is also arranged at such a shallow observing angle .alpha. relative to the tangential plane to the surface at the location of the strip of light (12) that faults (20) which project slightly out of the surface appear to the row camera (14) in shadow outline against the light background of the strip of light (12).

Optical surface inspection apparatus

The sharply bounded entry pupil (13) of an optical web monitoring apparatus is imaged by the system after passage through or reflection at the material web onto a dark field stop (16). This stop is provided at its periphery with light receiving surfaces having a relatively small area relative to the extent of the dark field stop (16). These light receiving surfaces conduct the received light to a photoconverter arrangement which is connected to an electronic processing circuit. In this way material faults are detected which bring about only small angular deviations of the scanning beam. In order to detect faults with greater light scattering a multiplier (23) is additionally mounted behind this receiver arrangement and receives light deflected beyond the light receiving surfaces.

Apparatus for optically scanning a web of material

A surface waviness measuring apparatus for specularly reflecting surfaces has a light source (22) and an optical system (23) which directs a light beam (24) obliquely onto the surface (14), with the light beam (24) forming a small primary light bead (12) there. A spherical concave mirror (11) is arranged at the angle of reflection (.alpha.) with the center of curvature (13) of the spherical concave mirror being arranged closely adjacent the small primary light bead (12) on the reflecting surface (14). A photoreceiver arrangement (16) is located at the angle of reflection of the light beam (15) reflected from the concave mirror (11).

Optical surface waviness measuring apparatus

An optical web monitoring apparatus has an illuminating arrangement which images the pupil of the source of illumination into the observing pupil of the camera objective (18) of a diode row camera using a strip-like concave mirror (14), or two strip-like concave mirrors (14, 15), and thus achieves the maximum attainable light yield. The construction is realized such that a fault seeking apparatus with a laser scanner can be used at the same time using the same mirror strips (14, 15). Thus two monitoring operations can be carried out simultaneously.

Optical web monitoring apparatus

An apparatus for mixing fluids in accurate predetermined quantities has a feed line for a first fluid (water) under pressure, a suction line for a second fluid (disinfectant) which is to be mixed to the first fluid, and an injector in the form of a fluid jet pump, to which, on the intake side, the feed line is connected. A magnetic valve is positioned in the first fluid feed line. To maintain a precise dosing and to prevent a backflow of the mixture, the feed line is connected to a pressure equalizing container, the fluid level of which is regulated by a fluid pressure switch which controls the magnetic valve. An outlet line from the pressure equalizing container communicates with the inlet of the injector through an air gap.

Apparatus for mixing fluids

The invention contemplates a photometer tube having a rotatably mounted slit-diaphragm insert, with provision for scanning a specimen object through the slit, in the direction perpendicular to the instantaneous longitudinal orientation of the slit. In a first embodiment, the rotatable slit is coupled with an angle transmitter which supplies a control signal for scanning by a motor-driven X-Y specimen stage. In a second embodiment, the diaphragm holder itself is mounted on a carrier, for lineal displacement on the carrier in the direction perpendicular to the direction of the slit, and the carrier is rotatable to permit slit orientation with respect to a pattern of interest in an observed specimen.

Microscope photometer

A transmitted-light illuminating device (FIG. 1) for microscopes consists of a condenser (1), an iris-aperture diaphragm (2) and a turret (3). The turret permits interchangeable mounting of auxiliary lenses (4) or diaphragms (5) by means of which large-object fields can be illuminated, if desired; alternatively, the microscope can be used in phase contrast. Condenser, diaphragm and turret are combined into a unit in which the turret is functionally coupled to the iris diaphragm. For this purpose, the index shaft of the turret (3) is eccentrically mounted to the actuating ring (9) of the diaphragm (2), the ring is configurated for detent engagement to retain the newly indexed turret station in axial register with the optical axis of the condenser. Thus, rotation of the turret first drives the actuating ring (9) against its diaphragm stop to thereby open the diaphragm before there is any indexing movement of the turret, from one to its next indexed position.

Transmitted-light illuminating device

A universal tube for microscopes has the shape of a block (1) whose front side bears an eyepiece attachment (2) and whose other sides are provided with image inlet or outlet openings (9-13) for auxiliary units which can be selectively attached. For the selection of the proper individual image inlets or outlets, depending on what auxiliary units are attached, two beam switching locations are provided within the tube, at which locations the beam may be deflected. The first switching location has three prisms fastened on a turret (5), each of the prisms having a reflection surface which is located in the same place in all switch positions of the turret and serves for coupling the eyepiece attachment to the different beams. The second switching location is where the optical axes of the individual image inlets and outlets (9-13) intersect each other. These inlets and outlets are provided with guides (14) along which interchangeable mirror elements can be inserted up to the point of intersection of the axes.

Universal binocular tube for microscopes

Two embodiments of a holder for standard specimen slides are disclosed which permit the use of only one hand when changing specimens and are characterized by simplicity in construction. In the first embodiment, the holder has a spring band (7) which is bent convexly towards the specimen slide (5) and clamps the slide against front-edge stops (2, 3, 4). In the second embodiment, the holder has a resiliently supported turnable disc (20) against the outer circumference of which the narrow side of the specimen slide (15) strikes tangentially upon the insertion. The disc (20) clamps the specimen slide (15) against the front-edge stop (12, 13, 14) after passing by it.
