A lock system is configured to secure a container, and is mounted in a door between inner and outer walls. An electromechanical lock device is received in the door, where the electromechanical lock device includes a housing, a locking bolt arranged in the housing and movable between locked and unlocked positions, a motor operable to actuate a motor cam to move between blocked and unblocked positions, and a slider that engages the motor cam and the locking bolt, where the slider engages the motor cam in the blocked position and moves away from the locking bolt in the unblocked position so that the locking bolt is unlocked, allowing the door to open for accessing the inside of the secure container.

Electronic lock

A lock including a housing and an opening for receiving a locking bolt moveable between a locked position and an unlocked position is provided. The lock also includes a rotary actuator having a rotary output of a predetermined amount and responsive to entry of an electronic combination input by a user; a cam wheel operably coupled to the housing and responsive to a manual combination input of the user, the cam wheel including a cam way; a bolt release lever moveably coupled to the housing and including a nose portion engageable with the cam way and a locking bar; and an armature post responsive to both the rotary and manual inputs, the armature post moveable between a blocking position for blocking the locking bolt in the locked position and an unblocking position for allowing the locking bolt to move into the unlocked position.

Electronic and mechanical combination lock

A lock having a housing defining a cavity with first and second opposing side walls and an opening for receiving a locking bolt, the locking bolt moveable between a locked position and an unlocked position is provided. The lock includes a rotary actuator having a rotary output and responsive to entry of an electronic combination input by a user; and a sliding blocking mechanism responsive to said rotary output and moveable between a blocking position for blocking the locking bolt in the locked position and an unblocking position for allowing the locking bolt to move into the unlocked position.

A method and system of gaining authorized entry into a secure location is provided. The method includes providing an electronic lock having a dial, the lock operably coupled to a microprocessor having memory for storing a user input code and a valid code. The user rotates the dial to activate power to the lock and a first random character is generated. The user again rotates the dial until a first user input character displays in the display. The first user input character is stored in memory and a second random character is generated. After the user has entered all characters of the access code, the microprocessor compares the user input characters with the valid access code stored in memory and if it is an authorized code, an indicia is generated on the display to visually indicate to a user that the lock is capable of moving to the opened position.

Method and device for inputting an access code in an electronic combination lock

A method of gaining authorized entry into a secure location is provided. The method includes providing an electronic lock having a dial, the lock operably coupled to a microprocessor having memory for storing a user input code and a valid code. The user rotates the dial to activate power to the lock and a first random character is generated. The user again rotates the dial until a first user input character displays in the display. The first user input character is stored in memory and a second random character is generated. After the user has entered all characters of the access code, the microprocessor compares the user input characters with the valid access code stored in memory if the user inputted code comprises an authorized code an indicia is generated on the display to visually indicate to a user that the lock is capable of moving to the opened position.

Dual input dial for electronic and mechanical combination lock

A lock including a housing having an opening for a locking bolt, a locking bolt movable between a locked position and an unlocked position, an actuator positioned within the housing, and a rotary blocking device that prevents the locking bolt from moving to the unlocked position. The lock may optionally include a tamper resistant mechanism that is designed such that attempting to forcibly move the locking bolt from the locked position to the unlocked position while the actuator remains in the locked condition causes the locking bolt to engage the tamper resistant mechanism.

A method of automatically activating a user code for an electronic lock having a keypad entry system is provided. The method includes providing an electronic lock having a keypad, the lock including a factory-set service code and a factory-activated default user code. During installation, the factory-set service code is entered into the keypad and the lock confirms that the entered factory-set service code is valid. The default service code is changed by entering a new service code. When the lock confirms that the new service code is a valid service code, the factory activated user code is automatically activated.

An electromechanical lock comprises a housing, a rectilinear locking lever slidable within the housing, a blocking element positioned adjacent the locking lever that is movable between a first position that engages with the locking lever and a second position that disengages with the locking lever, and an actuating device operable to control movement of the blocking element between the first and second positions.
