The invention relates to a multi-layer composite for use in an air filter, comprising at least one upstream ply and a support ply that is connected to the upstream ply. The upstream ply is made of a non-woven fabric and has a finer porosity than the support ply. The aim of the invention is to form and further develop a multi-layer composite for use in an air filter, in particular in a filter bag in such a manner that the upstream ply can be connected in a stable and economical manner to the support ply. The invention is characterised in that the upstream ply is embodied as a spun bonded non-woven, the continuous filaments of which are at least partially twisted or interwoven with the support ply.

A method for manufacturing an electret filter element includes preparing fibers and producing, by a spray device, a spray mist of fluid droplets which include an electrical charge formed by an electric field between detaching fluid droplets and a counter-electrode. The fibers are passed through the spray mist so as to wet the fibers with the fluid droplets. The fibers are laid down to form a fibrous layer.

Method for producing a pleatable filter material from a nonwoven fabric

A process for the manufacture of a triboelectrically charged nonwoven, wherein a fiber blend made of polyacrylnitrile fibers with a titer of &lE;1.7 dtex and of polyolefine fibers with a titer of &lE;1.7 dtex is freed from lubricating agents and antistatic agents by washing, is dried down to a moisture content of <1% by weight and is carded on a longitudinal or randomizing card into a triboelectrically charged web with a mass per area unit of 15-80 g/m . This web is taken off by two simultaneously running rolls and a transfer roll, so that the web is laid on to a conveyor in machine direction, and bonded directly inside a bonding set, the unbonded web being forwarded via 1 to 3 points of transfer only.

Process for manufacture of triboelectrically charged nonwovens

A filter made of nonwoven fabric, paper or the like for gaseous media, having an electrically conductive coating made of a conductive substance of pulverizable materials, in particular from electrically conductive carbon-black particles and/or powdery metal particles or other pulverized materials, the carbon-black particles or metal particles being fixed to the filter fibers with the aid of binding agents, and the conductive coating being applied in a reticulated manner on the filtering layer.

Filter for gaseous media

A dust filter bag made of a fiber layer laminated together with a paper layer. The fiber layer is made of synthetic polymer fibers and is arranged on the downstream side of the paper layer. To increase the strength of the dust filter bag, the fiber layer contains melted polymer regions and by way of the polymer regions the fiber layer is additionally consolidated within itself and joined to the paper layer. The polymer regions have a welded area of 0.5 to 10% of the surface area, preferably 1 to 3%, thus resulting in sufficient laminate strength with a low pressure drop.

Dust filter bag

An air filter material for intercepting dust is disclosed. The material is free of lubricants and antistatic agents, and consists of a blend of (I) polyolefin fibers and (II) polyacrylonitrile fibers that are geometrically stable. The fibers (I) are two-component polypropylene/polyethylene fibers of the core/jacket or side-by-side type, and fibers (II) are halogen-free. The fiber blend is washed during the manufacturing process after they are first combined.

Electrostatically-effective air filter material

The invention of this application relates to a cushion body, well suited for use as a seat cushion of a motor vehicle, consisting of a spring body which is deformable under a load, and is air and mositure permeable. The cushion also employs an air permeable cover material which is stretched over the cushion and is underlaid with a buffer layer which has a substantial content of cellulose fibers. The spring body consists of fibers with hydrophilic properties and a titer of 3 to 50 dtex, which fibers are combined to form a spatially oriented network, and are cemented together where they intersect.
