A medical instrument and method thereof for performing a measurement on a biological sample using a test strip are disclosed. The medical instrument may comprise: an analytical unit for analyzing the test strip, wherein the analytical unit comprises a test strip mount which receives the test strip to perform the measurement; a test strip port which receives the test strip, wherein the test strip port is aligned with the test strip mount along an insertion direction; and a shutter movable between open and closed positions, the shutter comprises a test strip opening, wherein the test strip opening is aligned with the test strip port and the test strip mount when the shutter is in the open position, wherein the shutter comprises a shutter mechanism that rotates the shutter parallel to the insertion direction about a rotational axis to move the shutter between the open position and the closed position.

The test element analysis system comprises an evaluation device with a test element holder for positioning a test element containing the sample and a measuring device for measuring a change in a measuring zone of the test element, the change being characteristic for an analyte. The test element holder contains contact elements with contact surfaces which allow an electrical contact between contact surfaces of the test element and the contact surfaces of the test element holder. The contact surfaces of the contact elements of the test element holder are provided with an electrically conductive surface containing metallic ruthenium.

Disclosed is a test tape device comprising a housing having a cassette compartment for a replaceable tape cassette, a cassette door which can be retained in a closed position and which allows access to the cassette compartment through a housing opening in an open position, a tip cover which can be positioned in a first position covering a housing aperture and a second position allowing access to a tip of the tape cassette, wherein the tip cover is moveable to a third position in which the cassette tip is at least partially uncovered and the housing opening is extended into the area of the cassette tip, and wherein the cassette door is self-opening when moving the tip cover to the third position.

Test tape device and operating method

The delivery for a sheet-processing machine, such as a sheet-fed rotary printing press, has several braking devices which are movable transverse to a sheet transport direction. The delivery also has a sheet guiding elements that respectively cover the interspaces between adjacent braking devices at a level of the top edges. The sheet guiding devices are formed from a flexible tape material. The length of the tape transverse to the direction of sheet transport and seen from above is adjustable to the spacing between the adjacent braking devices.
