Embodiments of a base plate and/or a sensor assembly part of an ostomy appliance including selective sensor points are disclosed. The base plate and/or the sensor assembly part comprises: a first adhesive layer and a plurality of electrodes located distally of the adhesive layer. The first adhesive layer comprises a stomal opening with a center point, a proximal surface configured to be attached to a skin surface of a user, and a plurality of sensor point openings arranged circumferentially around the center point at respective radial distances. The plurality of electrodes comprises a first leakage electrode and a second leakage electrode. A sensing part of the first leakage electrode aligns with a first sensor point opening of the plurality of sensor point openings. And, a sensing part of the second leakage electrode aligns with a second sensor point opening of the plurality of sensor point openings to form a leak sensor.

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a monitor device for an ostomy system. The monitor device comprises: a processor, memory; and a first interface connected to the processor and the memory. The first interface comprises a plurality of terminals and a data collector. The plurality of terminals includes a first terminal that forms an electrical connection with a first electrode of an ostomy appliance of the ostomy system and a second terminal that forms an electrical connection with a second electrode of the ostomy appliance. The data collector is coupled to the first terminal and the second terminal and comprises a data collection controller configured to collect data from the plurality of terminals according to a primary data collection scheme and collect data from the plurality of terminals according to a secondary data collection scheme. In embodiments, the base plate and/or the sensor assembly part comprises a first adhesive layer, a masking element, and a plurality of electrodes. The masking element is arranged on a distal surface of the first adhesive layer, and is more insulative than the first adhesive layer.
