A pneumatic vehicle tire with an annular bead core consisting of multiple layers of wound wire has a bead core with a cross-section that, based on a hexagonal cross-sectional area defined by a radially outer and a radially inner side, a radially outer and axially outer side, a radially outer and axially inner side, a radially inner and axially outer side, and a radially inner and axially inner side, has a cross-sectional portion that is free of wire windings. The cross-sectional portion has a triangular or quadrangular shape. The triangular shape is delimited by the radially outer side and the radially outer and axially outer side and a connecting line between free ends of the radially outer side and the radially outer and axially outer side. The quadrangular portion is delimited by the radially outer side and the radially outer and axially outer side, a section of the radially inner and axially outer side, and a connecting line between a free end of the radially outer side and an end point of the section of the radially inner and axially outer side. When based on a rectangular cross-sectional area, defined by n rows and m layers of windings and having a radially outermost corner, a cross-sectional portion free of windings has a triangular shape.

Pneumatic vehicle tire with specified bead core cross-section

A vehicle wheel and pneumatic tire assembly, including a tire which essentially comprises rubber or rubber-like synthetic material, and a rigid rim which on the radially inner periphery of the rim ring has seating surfaces for the tire, from where the tire walls initially extend essentially horizontally toward the outside. On the radially inner periphery, the rim ring is provided with support surfaces for supporting the tire during an emergency operation. In order to be able to transmit increased forces during an emergency operation, the inner wall of the tire, in the region of the tread, and the radially outer portions of the rim, are provided with raised portions and recessed portions which predominantly extend in the transverse direction, and which are adapted to engage in one another during an emergency operation of the tire.

A pneumatic tire, the tread of which is provided with zigzagged grooves. In order to keep rocks or similar solid foreign objects from getting stuck in the tread recesses, and in order to have these rocks drop out of the tread when the associated tire axis pivots, the side faces or the zigzagged grooves are stepped. Furthermore, the step faces, which extend approximately transverse to the circumferential direction of the tire, are disposed at an incline to a plane which extends through the main axis of the tire. Side faces which merge into one another via a given step face are parallel to one another, yet are staggered relative to one another by the width of this step face. The step faces are upwardly inclined at approximately 15.degree. to 25.degree..

Tread for pneumatic vehicle tires

A tread or tread profile, especially for radial tires of trucks and similar vehicles, is disclosed. The tread includes six profile ribs arranged symmetrically to the circumferential center of the tire. Grooves of zigzag or similar wave patterns are provided between the profile ribs. The lateral profile ribs at the shoulders of the tire have a width which is about two times the width of a central profile rib and the pertaining lateral grooves are about 1/3 the width of the central groove. The tire can also be provided with radial recesses in the shoulder of the lateral profile ribs.
