This invention relates to a dynamically addressable master-slave system and a method for dynamic addressing of slave units, wherein a master unit and a plurality of slave units are provided and the slave units are connected to the master unit via a bus system and can receive at least one broadcast command from the master unit via the bus line of the bus system, wherein the master-slave system is configured such that the master unit can send respective broadcast commands to the slave units, on the one hand, for activation, and on the other hand, for performing the dynamic addressing process of slave addresses, and wherein the slave units each comprise an address input and an address output and are serially connected via an address line that is separate from the bus line.

Dynamic addressing

A master-slave system includes a master unit having a digital output for providing a signal or a serial signal sequence of signals, and at least two slave units. Each of the slave units includes at least one digital serial memory having a size of one bit, and each slave unit includes an input and an output. The slave units are serially connected to one another via the inputs and the outputs via a signal line (). The output of a first slave unit is connected via the signal line to the digital output of the master unit. The master slave system is configured so that a signal supplied by the digital output is detected at the input of the slave unit, in order to raise the address of the corresponding slave unit in each case by the value '1', to store the signal change in the memory and to output a signal corresponding to the content of the memory at the output of the memory.

Dynamically addressable master-slave system and method for dynamically addressing slave units

A method of assigning network addresses for ventilators () in a network. Each ventilator () has a unique serial number in a serial number memory () and a network address in an adjustable network address memory (). A control unit () automatically assigns network addresses to a plurality of ventilators (). To begin with, all ventilators are assigned an identical start-address as network address, and serial number queries with a serial number mask are sent to the start-address. The serial number mask is comprised of definite and indefinite positions, and the ventilators () respond to the serial number mask subject to their serial number. The control unit () assigns unique network addresses to the ventilators () independently of the responses and/or modifies the serial number mask for further serial number queries.

Method for assigning network addresses for fans

An electric brake motor, particularly of the kind having a squirrel cage rotor and a slow-running stator winding with a large number of poles, is provided with electrical switching means to increase the motor current briefly on starting, at least on starting of the slowrunning winding, so as to increase the magnetic field generated by the motor current for releasing the brake. The switching means may be contacts actuated by axial movement of the rotor on starting, or a relay or contactor operated by the motor current or by a control switch. The increase in current may be achieved by briefly shortcircuiting part of the motor winding or by briefly connecting a second, fast-running stator winding in parallel with the slow-running winding in the case of a change-pole motor.
