In a motor vehicle chassis, at least one wheel suspension, which comprises a spring in the form of a coil spring, has associated therewith a hydraulic height adjustment device having a cylinder-piston arrangement which acts on a base point of the coil spring. The cylinder-piston arrangement can be supplied by a decentral hydraulic aggregate which is associated with the relevant wheel and comprises a storage container for hydraulic fluid and a hydraulic pump driven by an electric motor. At least the electric motor of the hydraulic aggregate is situated within the coil spring.

Motor vehicle chassis

A hydraulic level-adjustment device has a reservoir, a reversible hydraulic unit with a hydraulic pump, and a single-acting hydraulic linear actuator. To lift a vehicle chassis, the working space of the linear actuator can be pressurized by the hydraulic pump operated in its first pumping direction via its first pump connection and a fill line with a fill-check valve arranged therein. To lower the chassis, via its second pump connection, the hydraulic pump, operated in the reverse pumping direction, pumps hydraulic fluid into the reservoir via an outflow line with a throttle unit arranged therein. The pressure present upstream of the throttle unit acts on the control connection of a lockable, drainage-check valve via a control line and opens same, so that, under the weight of the motor vehicle, hydraulic fluid is forced out of the working space of the hydraulic linear actuator into the reservoir via the drainage line.

In a motor vehicle chassis, all four wheel suspensions each have associated therewith a hydraulic height adjustment device having a cylinder-piston arrangement which acts on a base point of the relevant spring and is supplied by a decentral hydraulic aggregate. The hydraulic height adjustment devices each comprise a complex, integrated electrohydraulic adjustment assembly comprising the allocated hydraulic aggregate and the associated cylinder-piston arrangement and having a specific adapter into which the allocated cylinder-piston arrangement is integrated in such a way that there are no exposed hydraulic lines between the allocated hydraulic pump and the associated cylinder-piston arrangement. The front wheel height adjustment devices and the rear wheel height adjustment devices differ in terms of the adapter.

A hydraulic system, especially in a high-pressure application, comprises a pressurized-fluid tank, a pressurized-fluid pump driven by a drive unit, at least one hydraulic load that can be pressurized thereby and a control and/or distribution unit connected fluidically between the pressurized-fluid pump and the load. This unit is provided with a housing and a core received therein and connected rigidly with the housing, which core bears with part of its surface in the region of a common, closed, especially cylindrical joint face with the housing on a corresponding inside face of a housing opening. Surface groove-like flow ducts are provided on the core and/or the housing in the region of the joint face, and the pressurized-fluid pump is directly built onto the control and/or distribution unit in the region of a free end face of the core.

Hydraulic system

A system for opening and closing a folding top or moveable vehicle roof of a convertible car is provided, with at least one drive to operate the top or roof, at least one linear position sensor that senses continuously the position of an element of the top or roof and, a controller that receives a signal from the at least one position sensor and generates, a signal to actuate at least one drive. The linear sensor is arranged to determine the position of any element of the folding top or moveable vehicle roof relative to another moveable element of the top or roof or to a fixed element relative to the vehicle.

System for opening and closing a folding top or displaceable vehicle roof on a convertible vehicle

An actuation arrangement for displaced components on vehicles, particularly trunk lids, convertible tops, engine hoods or the like, includes at least one supply line for the pressurized medium and one essentially non-pressure connection line to a reservoir for the working medium or a pump arrangement being functionally of the same kind, at least one preferably hydraulic working cylinder, and at least one control valve controlling the supply of a working medium in at least one working chamber of the working cylinder. To make possible a hydraulic movement of the vehicle component as well as a purely manual actuation in any direction without detrimental influence to a subsequent actuation or other measures, except for the on- and off switching of the energy supply of the hydraulic system, the control valve ( ) may be electrically operated, at least one of the working chambers of at least one working cylinder ( ) may be connected alternatively via a control valve ( ) with a supply line ( ), or the working chamber may be connected to a connection line while being without electric power, and that an overflow line ( ) is provided between the working chambers of the working cylinders ( ) whereby the overflow line ( ) allows counter-movements of the displaced component, and whereby an open non-energized valve ( ) is inserted in the overflow line ( ).

Actuation arrangement for displaceable components on vehicles

In a radial piston pump (,), which has pump elements (,) arranged radial in the pump housing (,) and which in turn have an inlet valve (,) and an outlet valve (,) activated by the medium, the valves (,) are disposed at the outer side of the pump elements (,) whereby the inlet valves (,) are arranged coaxial relative to the pump piston (,). All inlet valves (,) are connected to a joint intake channel (,) that leads around the outside of the pump housing (,). To achieve a simple, flexible and operationally dependable design with a high degree of efficiency and low noise emission, the pump elements (,) are inserted from the outside and held in place in a bore (,) of the pump housing (,) as a complete unit, consisting of a cylinder barrel (,), a pump piston (,) and an inlet valve (,), and the joint inlet channel (,) is designed as a groove (,) that is open to the outside, which is covered with a fitted sealing member (,) after mounting of the pump element (,) onto the pump housing (,), and whereby said channel (,) is connected with the tank (,) via at least one bore (,) in the pump housing (,).

Radial piston pump

A hydraulic actuating system for movable parts, particularly for hinged covers on vehicles, includes at least one or more working cylinders with a piston equipped with sealing means pressing against the cylinder wall. A control unit is connected with one or all cylinders, and a pressure sensor connected to a control unit. Devices on the cylinder and piston are designed to cause pressure modulation in the cylinder and a common hydraulic circuit. The outgoing signals from the pressure sensor, are changed corresponding to the pressure modulations and are transmitted to the control unit to be used for position control and/or identification of one or all cylinders by the control unit.

Hydraulic actuating system for movable parts

A hydraulic operating apparatus, especially for a vehicle covering, includes a reversible pump (,) which, via hydraulic lines (,), one of which is in all cases provided with an unblockable check valve (,), is connected with the working chambers of at least one double-acting piston-cylinder arrangement (,). In order to make possible a very flexible supply and control of mutually independently operated piston-cylinder arrangements with a minimum of constructive and control-technical effort, additional hydraulic lines (,) branch off from both hydraulic lines (,) of the reversible pump, into which the check valves are placed, which additional hydraulic lines lead into a common hydraulic line (,) to at least one additional piston cylinder arrangement (,).

Hydraulic operating apparatus

The invention relates to an operational arrangement for movable parts on vehicles, especially for hatches, movable roofs and the like. The invention provides for the automatic opening of the hatch or roof by a drive unit. The invention is characterized by placement of a drive mechanism within the vehicle, obviating the need for special coating of the drive mechanism, with transfer of forces from the interior to the exterior of the vehicle through a four joint hinge including a pivot pin which passes through the body of the vehicle and is operatively connected to the drive mechanism and the movable part.

Operational arrangement for movable parts on vehicles

A motor-driven radial piston pump assembly has its radial piston pump supported by a base section on one side thereof which likewise supports an electric motor for powering the pump which is supported on that same side coaxially. The electric motor and a hydraulic tank are directly connected to the base section, the motor being surrounded by a cylindrical-shaped motor housing forming an inner wall of the tank and being sealingly connected to the base section, the motor housing being closed by a cover on its outer end opposite the pump. Such arrangement is compact in that the electric motor is simply positioned directly on the base section and is almost completely surrounded by the hydraulic tank such that the separate motor housing of the electric motor can be of simple and light weight construction.

Electric motor/radial pump assembly

In a hydraulic operating mechanism for a convertible top, a pressure sensor (12) is incorporated into a common pressure circuit (P) of the hydraulic cylinders (1 through 4) and connected with a control unit which is connected to the switching elements (V1 through V4) of the hydraulic cylinders (1 through 4), and its output signal in relation to time, together with the preset switching sequences of the individual switching elements (V1 through V4), serves to control the end positions of the individual hydraulic cylinders (1 through 4). The control can thus be incorporated in the operating mechanism without expensive separate end position switches at each hydraulic cylinder (1 through 4) or appurtenant actuation element, simplifying the overall design.

Hydraulic operating mechanism for a convertible top

To connect the cylinder pipe (1) of a hydraulic cylinder to a bottom (6), and a cover (8), the bottom (6) and cover (8) have groove-shaped recesses (16, 17), into which are pressed the ends (5, 7) of the cylinder pipe (1) under permanent deformation. To enable pressurization at high operating pressures, the region (25) of the inner end of the non-deformed cylinder pipe (1) is defined as a holding region (18, 19) and has a turned groove (26) which, in the deformed state of the cylinder pipe (1), reaches over the related inner edge (27) of the groove-shaped recesses (16, 17) with respect to the longitudinal stretch of the cylinder pipe (1).

Hydraulic cylinder

A hydraulic actuating apparatus for opening and closing a movable cover (convertible top) of a vehicle includes a piston/cylinder device, a reversible, motor driven pump for supplying hydraulic fluid to the piston/cylinder device to cause it to open or close the vehicle cover, and an auxiliary manual pump for supplying hydraulic fluid to the piston/cylinder device in the event of failure of the reversible pump.
