In a dental patient chair that includes a patient bearing taxonomy in which specific treatment surfaces at teeth of the upper jaw and lower jaw are allocated to specific chair positions, an operating unit having an operating area on which the tooth rows of the upper and lower jaw are displayable as a diagram. The dental diagram is subdivided into a plurality of sections which represent treatment surfaces of those teeth for whose treatment identical or approximately identical chair positions are required. The sections are optically displayable on the operating area. Operating means are allocated to the sections, the adjustment means being activated upon actuation of said operating means for the purpose of adjusting the chair parts into the appertaining, selected chair position. The allocation of the operating means to the sections is defined by their arrangement, by colored or by structured fashioning.

A control board for a dental apparatus contains a control panel (1) having a plurality of key surfaces (2) for the actuation of sensor devices (3) that respond to a force or a change in force. The sensor devices (3), facing toward the operating side, are covered by a thin front plate (4a) of transparent material. The front plate (4a) is provided with an all around, lateral edge (5) that is an integral component part of the front plate (4a) and thus forms a frame (4) that is closed at the front side and surrounds the control panel. At least the front plate (4a) and, preferably, the entire frame (4) is composed of glass.

A dental patient chair has an adjustable headrest on a headrest carrier. The headrest is pivotably hinged around a transverse first axis on a bracing member which, in turn, is adjustable in the longitudinal direction in the backrest. In addition, the headrest is connected by a linkage which is pivotably connected on a second axis offset from the first axis so that movement of the linkage causes tilting of the headrest. The linkage is shifted as the headrest carrier is extended and contracted.

A dental instrument deposit table includes a base member, which has an arrangement for mounting it, and a cover unit which unit includes a deposit surface for receiving the instruments and holders for receiving handpieces, such as handpieces having hoses and handpieces having cables secured thereto. The cover unit is removably mounted on the base member, which, preferably, has a catch member for grasping a rear edge of the cover member and a catch hook for engaging a front lower edge of the cover member to hold the cover member on the base member. Handles are preferably provided on the cover member, which handles can be used for positioning the instrument deposit table.

A medical apparatus having a variety of electrically actuatable elements includes actuation arrangement for assisting the selection of functions of the electrically actuatable elements. The actuation arrangement includes a single actuation device, preferably a foot switch, that can be brought from an initial position into two working positions. By actuating the actuation device into one of the two working positions, function display elements provided with symbol identifiers and optical signal generators are driven in succession and are displayed on a visual field. A control arrangement processes the control signals from the signal generators, such that the optical signal generators of the function display elements are successively driven in accordance with the selected actuation direction until a desired function display element is reached. The appertaining operator elements are thereby switched in a preparatory manner. By subsequent actuation of the actuation device into the other working position, the appertaining operator element is activated.

A dental patient chair has a seat, backrest and headrest which are adjustable in both the horizontal and vertical directions relative to a base part to establish a given chair position for treatment. The patient chair includes a controllable positioning arrangement which enables positioning a reference point or 'mouth point' in a particular position in both the vertical and horizontal directions and enables varying this point in view of changes either in the size of the patient, the size of the attending person, or a change between a sitting and standing position for the attending person.

A dental patient chair comprises an arrangement for adjusting the seat height, the inclination position of the seat and the backrest, as well as the position of the seat and backrest with reference to a longitudinal direction of the chair. The arrangement includes two pivotably connected arms having one arm pivotably connected to a pedestal and the other connected to the seat and being provided with a drive arrangement for shifting the arms relative to their pivotable connection to move the seat in both a vertical and horizontal direction, as well as to tilt the seat relative to a base plane. The arrangement includes a control device for operating the drive arrangement for pivoting the arms relative to the pivotable connections between themselves and to the pedestal and seat.

The present invention is directed to a bracket structure which has one or more tubular members interconnected by elbow members. At least one of the tubular members is connected to an elbow member by a plug-type connection having a socket receiving a pin part with the socket and pin part being constructed so that no twisting will occur between the two parts in the assembled position but the two parts can be disassembled and reassembled with the position of the parts being rotated through at least 180.degree. relative to each other. This provides the advantage of enabling easy changing of the bracket from being adapted for a floor mounting to a ceiling mounting.
