The invention relates to the use of lead-free sliding layers in the laminated composite materials for slide bearings or bushes. According to the invention, the laminated composite material comprises a support layer, an antifriction layer () produced from a copper alloy or an aluminum alloy, an intermediate nickel layer () having a thickness &#x3e;4 &#x3bc;m and a sliding layer () consisting of approximately 0 to 20% by weight of copper and/or silver and the remainder tin. The sliding layer is electrodeposited from a methlysulfonic acid electrolyte.

Laminated composite material, production and use thereof

The invention is a method for the production of a composite multilayer material having a backing layer, a bearing metal layer of a copper alloy or an aluminum alloy, a nickel intermediate layer and an overlay consisting of about 0-20 wt. % copper and about 0-20 wt. % silver, the combined maximum wt. % of copper and silver being about 20 wt. %, the rest being bismuth, and the layer thickness of the nickel layer amounts to more than 4 &#x3bc;m by electrodeposition, in which the overlay is deposited from methyl sulphonic acid-based electrolyte.

Layered composite material for plain bearings, production and use thereof

A method is described for producing composite multilayer materials which exhibit optimum properties throughout their entire service life. The composite multilayer material comprises a backing layer, a bearing metal layer, an intermediate layer and an electrodeposited overlay, which exhibits a hardness which increases continuously from its surface in the direction of the bearing metal layer. The method provides for the electrodeposition as overlay of a lead-free alloy with at least one hard and one soft component, the current density being modified within the range of from 0.3 to 20 A/dm during the deposition process and/or the temperature of the electroplating bath being modified within the range of from 15&deg; C. to 80&deg; C.

A multilayer material is described, whose overlay exhibits improved hardness and improved wear-resistance. The multilayer material includes an overlay, which contains 8-18.5 wt. % tin and 2-16 wt. % copper, the balance being lead, wherein the tin is present as a finely crystalline deposit completely homogeneously distributed in the lead. A process for producing sliding elements in which the overlay of lead-tin-copper is applied to the prefabricated semi-finished product by electroplating provides that a ternary, fluoroborate-free electroplating bath is used without brighteners and with the addition of fatty acid polyglycol ester and a grain refining agent including a carboxylic acid.
