The invention relates to a stable multiple phase emulsion of the O.sub.1 /W/O.sub.2 type with high proportions of the primary O.sub.1 /W emulsion. The new emulsions have an emulsifier-free primary oil-in-water phase consisting of a viscoplastic aqueous gel containing the finely distributed inner oil droplets together with a gelling agent, wherein the thixotropic primary oil-in-water phase has a yield point in the range from 20 to 100 Pa and a plastic viscosity of 0.01 to 0.1 Pa.multidot.s and contains at least one lipophilic agent in the primary oil; and a secondary oil phase in which the primary oil-in-water phase is present together with a lipophilic emulsifier; and wherein the proportion of the inner oily phase is from 10 to 35 % by weight relative to the total weight of the emulsion. The higher proportions of the inner oily phase render possible higher proportions of organic sun protection agents with simultaneous avoidance of skin irritations.

A new cosmetic product combines tanning, sunscreen, moisturizing and water-repellant properties in a stable formulation. The product is an O/W emulsion which includes from 5% to 14% by weight of inorganic pigments treated with perfluoroalkyl phosphates, in which the pigments are selected from the group consisting of colored iron oxides, titanium dioxide and mixtures thereof. There are dispersants selected from the group consisting of at least (b1) cetyl dimethicone copolyol and (b2) cetyl dimethicone which are present in the range of 2% to 10% by weight, with the ratio of (b1) to (b2) in the range from 15-3 to 40-8, and further known carrier and auxiliary agents as well as further dispersants if required, in which the share of moisturizing additives is less than 4% by weight.

A composition contains certain nutrients, active and protective substances, as well as an oxygen carrier, along with a process for preparing this composition and its use. The composition provides skin care preparation with a high oxygen content which also contain further nutrients, active and/or protective substances. The new functional oxygenated composition contains (a) phospholipids and oxygen-loaded fluorocarbon or fluorocarbon mixtures. The proportion of fluorocarbon lies in the 0.2 to 100% by weight/volume range. The lipid fraction contains 30 to 99% by weight phosphatidylcholine in the form of asymmetric lamellar aggregates. The invention relates to pharmaceutical compositions which are incorporated into the skin with the aid of novel microaggregates as carriers. The object of the invention is to make available pharmacological active compounds in a biologically and chemically inert carrier for therapeutic and diagnostic administration to the skin or for systemic administration, and in this way to make deeper penetration into the skin or transdermal transport possible. According to the invention, this is effected by means of a pharmaceutical composition for topical administration, which contains asymmetric lamellar aggregates, consisting of phospholipids, pharmacological active compounds and fluorocarbons or fluorocarbon mixtures, the proportion of fluorocarbon being in the range from 1 to 100% weight/volume, in a pharmaceutical excipient which is suitable for topical administration. Preparation is effected by emulsification of the appropriate constituents and use in ointments, creams, lotions, pastes, gels, powders or on a dressing or plaster or by means of a spray.

The invention relates to preparations for the improved release of oxygen into the skin and to the use of same as cosmetics/dermatics. The preparations according to this invention contain, as the essential component, fluorocarbon emulsions consisting of nonionic emulsifiers and an oxygen-loaded fluorocarbon or fluorocarbon mixture, the fluorocarbon content being in the range from 0.05 to 100% by weight/volume. They are prepared by emulsifying the corresponding components and incorporating the resulting emulsion in known carriers for, for example, ointments, creams, lotions, waters, alcoholic extracts, pastes, powders, gels, tinctures or masks.

The invention relates to a cosmetic for assisting the transport of oxygen in the skin, a process for its preparation and the use thereof. The problem with the known cosmetics is the inadequate oxygen supply to the skin and the adjoining tissue. The object of the invention is therefore to get through the horny layer of the skin and the epidermis by penetration processes in order to increase the oxygen concentration in the dermal area and adjoining tissue and to activate metabolic processes. According to the invention, this is effected by a cosmetic containing asymmetric lamellar aggregates, consisting of phospholipids and oxygen-laden fluorocarbon or fluorocarbon mixture, the amount of fluorocarbon being in the range from 0.2 to 100% weight/volume, in a carrier suitable for dermatological use. Preparation is effected by emulsification of the corresponding constituents, and use in ointments, creams, lotions, waters, alcoholic extracts, pastes, powders, gels, tinctures or on dressings and plasters or in a spray.

Phospholipid-and fluorocarbon-containing cosmetic

The invention relates to a preparation for topical use, having light protection properties and in a special application form. In the known light protection agents containing the naturally occurring active compound melanin, the problem is inadequate transport of the melanin to its site of action. According to the invention, this problem is solved by a preparation for topical use which is characterised in that it contains melanin, dissolved or dispersed in one or more fluorocarbons, which are present as asymmetric lamellar phospholipid aggregates in an aqueous system together with a phospholipid, with a particle size of the aggregates in the range from 200 to 3000 nm.
