Additive mixture for moulding material mixtures for the production of water-glass-bonded casting moulds and casting cores

A description is given of the use of a refractory coating composition having a solids fraction of more than 69 wt %, based on the total mass of the coating composition, and also having a loss on ignition of less than 0.6 wt %, based on the total mass of the solids fraction of the coating composition, for producing a refractory coating on the inner walls of a centrifugal casting mold by means of a spray application. Further described is a method for producing a centrifugal casting mold provided on its inner walls with a refractory coating, for use in the centrifugal casting process, and also a method for producing a casting in the centrifugal casting process, preferably having a structured surface. Also described is a centrifugal casting mold for use in the centrifugal casting process, having a refractory coating on the inner walls of the centrifugal casting mold.

A coating composition is described, for use in the foundry, in particular comprising particulate, amorphous silicon dioxide (SiO) and an aqueous phase having a pH of at most 5, and also coated, waterglass-bound foundry molding elements, especially coated, waterglass-bound foundry molds and foundry cores, which each comprise a coating composition of the invention. Further described is the use of a coating composition of the invention for producing a coating on a waterglass-bound foundry molding element and a method for producing a waterglass-bound foundry molding element (mold or core) coated with a water-containing refractory coating. The refractory coating can have a proportion by weight of 0.001% or more and less than 1% of inorganic hollow bodies, which partially or fully consist of crystalline material and have a softening point of 1000&#xb0; C. or higher.

The present invention relates to a refractory coating for producing mold coatings by application to inorganically or organically-bound molding materials in lost molds or to cores for iron and steel casting, wherein the ready-to-use refractory coating has proportion by weight of 0.001% or more and less than 1% of inorganic hollow bodies, which partially or fully consist of crystalline material and have a softening point of 1000&#xb0; C. or higher.
