An electrical switching device, especially a high-voltage circuit breaker, contains arcing contacts and nominal current contacts. At least one of the nominal current contacts has a surface formed of an arc-resistant material provided with a galvanic coating. In this configuration, the contact points can withstand high mechanical and thermal loads and at the same time maintain a high current carrying capacity.

Switching device

A magnetic linear drive has a coil in whose interior the current can produce a magnetic flux in an axial directions, having an armature which can move only at right angles to the axial direction and which has a magnetically active part which is magnetized, in particular, parallel to, but in the opposite direction to, the axial direction. The armature is driven by a current surge which accelerates the magnetically active part toward the coil center irrespective of its initial position.

Magnetic linear drive

A high-voltage circuit breaker that has a grounded enclosure and an interrupter module arranged in the grounded enclosure. The interrupter module has short pipe connections and bushings mounted on them to accommodate connecting leads. The current converters are arranged on the bushings. The insulation body of the bushing passes through the current converters along their entire length with respect to the longitudinal direction of the respective connecting lead.

High-voltage circuit breaker having an interrupter module

A method of manufacturing a wound insulator pipe, in particular for a high voltage insulator, having one or more ducts for conductors of any kind is provided. A laminate structure is achieved by winding a material onto a spindle and impregnating with a resin. Initially first layers of the material to be wound are applied; then at least one groove is made in the surface obtained and then the winding is completed until the final diameter is attained.

Method of producing a wound insulating pipe

A method for producing a wound insulating conduit, in particular for a high-voltage insulator, with at least one empty channel for subsequent insertion of a conductor, e.g., an optical fiber. First layers of a material to be wound are applied first, then a molded body provided with at least one empty conduit is applied to a resulting surface and wrapped by additional layers. The molded body has lateral projections which extend over an entire length of the empty conduit and are designed so that they correspond to the surface to which it is secured.

Drive for an electric high voltage circuit-breaker

In an electric high-voltage circuit breaker with a hydraulic drive, the piston rod, going through a seal, is brought out of the hydraulic cylinder in order to actuate the movable contact via a reversing gear and a switching rod. The piston rod is arranged in a protective tube and provided with a guiding ring which guides the piston rod in the protective tube. The piston rod is coupled to a fork head which engages the reversing gear. The hydraulic cylinder is located between two housings for drive parts, the interior spaces of which are heated and ventilated or exhausted. To prevent the formation of condensate water in the interior of the protective tube, there are provided in the hydraulic cylinder passages which connect the interior of the lower housing and the interior of the upper housing, respectively, to the interior of the protective tube. Thereby, the heated air is conducted from the lower housing via the interior of the protective tube into the interior of the upper housing. The electric high-voltage circuit breaker may be of the type using SF.sub.6 pressurized gas in an open air installation.

Electric high-voltage circuit breaker

An improved reversing valve for use in hydraulic actuators of electric high-voltage circuit breakers wherein the valve is of the type comprising: a ball for controlling the path to be reversed; means for continuously subjecting the ball to a pressure force; a movable plunger for loading the ball; a valve body for controlling the path to be reversed connected to the plunger; and a hydraulically movable piston connected to the plunger. The improvement comprises placement of the ball in a first stable end position by the continuous pressure force and the further inclusion in the valve of a roller toggle means responsive to the loading of the ball by the plunger for causing the continuous pressure on the ball to be reduced and the ball to be placed in a second stable condition.
