The measurement device for generating a measurement signal from an object without physical contact with the object includes a magnetizable plastic coil body and at least one coil arranged on the coil body and through which a current flows during generation of the measurement signal. The coil body can be part of a one-piece injection molded plastic part consisting of a magnetizable plastic material. In a preferred embodiment the one-piece injection molded magnetizable plastic part consists of ring-like mounting element and a sleeve-like extension with a exterior circumferential groove for the coil or coils which acts as the magnetizable plastic coil body. The magnetizable plastic substance can be a polyamide plastic substance filled with a weakly magnetizable material such as an iron-cobalt powder.

A travel simulator having a progressive pedal characteristic to be in operation in a power-actuated service brake. The hydraulic brake system has a valve assembly for the switching of the brake system into operation as either a service brake or as an emergency brake. The master cylinder has a pressure fluid reservoir, two pressure chambers, and an intermediate piston as well. The intermediate piston is supported on a travel simulator spring. When the service brake is in operation, pressure fluid can be diverted from the second pressure chamber into the reservoir, and the intermediate piston is moved against the resistance of the spring. When the emergency brake is in operation, both pressure chambers communicate with one another so that the intermediate piston is pressure balanced. When the pedal is actuated, pressure fluid is expelled from the first pressure chamber. The intermediate piston is not subject to any motion during an emergency brake operation. The brake system is for use in road vehicles.

The invention is directed to a connection that can be easily made, produced at little expense, and can carry heavy loads. A housing block has a receiving bore with undercut portions, embodied by a groove, that extend over circumferential regions of this bore. A magnet valve has primary flange segments formed onto the valve body, which along their end face which face toward the opening of the receiving bore of the housing block are conically limited in cross section. These flange segments which extend over circumferential regions of the magnet valve body engage the undercut portions, formed in accordance with the cross section of the flange segments, in the manner of a bayonet mount type of connection. The connection is particularly suitable for use in hydraulic vehicle brake systems, where particularly strong forces between the magnet valve and the housing block must be absorbed.

A pressure control valve is connected at one end with a suction chamber and with increasing pressure in the suction chamber shifts the instant of injection to early. A pressure relief line connects between a restoring chamber in the pressure control chamber with a pressure maintenance valve. The pressure maintenance valve includes a valve insert comprising a valve cylinder in which a compression spring-loaded valve body is disposed. The valve body has a sealing face that closes the pressure relief line. The diameter of the pressure relief line is smaller than the valve cylinder diameter. The diameter of the pressure relief line is selected such that the suction chamber pressure present at the sealing face moves the valve body away from the valve seat counter to the force of a compression spring contacting the valve body and opens up a pressure relief line leading onward. After the lifting of the valve body from the pressure relief line, the suction chamber pressure is present at the entire cross section of the valve body, and the force, now embodied by the cross section of the valve body and the suction chamber pressure established at idling rpm, attains a value, by comparison with the force of the compression spring that keeps the valve body away from the pressure relief line. This assures that the function of the cold start acceleration takes place only upon the first run-up of the engine. A rapid cold start acceleration is thereby advantageously attained, and a loud engine noise is only briefly audible.

A fuel injection pump of the distributor type is proposed, in which the injection quantity is controlled by controlling the first outlet cross section D of a first relief line and the stroke-offset outlet C of a second relief line for the pump work chamber of the fuel injection pump by means of a control edge that is variable in accordance with load and/or rpm. To attain nonsupply of fuel within the intended supply stroke of the pump piston during idling and at low partial load, communication between the first and second relief lines is provided. The communication exists only for the duration of a predetermined stroke portion (h.sub.e) and is additionally controlled in accordance with load and/or rpm by controlling the following outlet of the second relief line, so that from a predetermined upper load range to full-load operation, the entire fuel quantity pumped by the pump piston over the effective supply stroke does in fact become injected.

A control apparatus for limiting the fuel supply quantity of a fuel injection pump for internal combustion engines such as Diesel engines or the like by means of which an automatically controlled additional starting quantity of fuel is variable in accordance with temperature which comprises a limit stop displaceable by the pressure of a control medium and connected with a control piston and including a starting detent which varies its position in accordance with temperature; the limit stop in its first terminal position being arranged to determine the starting setting and in its other terminal position under the control of the pressure of the control medium, being arranged to determine the full-load setting of the fuel supply quantity adjustment member of the injection pump, a starting setting for a warm engine being controlled by the starting detent which limits the starting setting to the full-load setting or below.

To provide for extended true running of the distributor shaft and prevent wear on relatively movable mechanical components within the distributor, such as a shaft and bearings, a centrifugal spark advance/retard mechanism, or the like, the relatively movable parts are included in the lubricating circuit of the engine, for example by being connected to the pressure lubrication system of the engine or located to be exposed to oil mist in the engine compartment and arising upon operation of the engine, so that the relatively movable parts are constantly lubricated by the engine lubricating system.
