This invention provides a sealing mechanism for sealing the piston-cylinder unit of a reciprocating diaphragm pump to ensure that the piston-cylinder unit is permanently and reliably sealed while being simple to assemble. The invention further provides a piston-cylinder unit which has almost no play in the micrometer (&mgr;m) range, and which is sealed by hydrodynamically sealing a slot thereof.

A device for metering a pasty product and mixing the same with a solvent has an exchangeable packing drum containing the pasty product and arranged in a dimensionally stable container, and a vacuum metering device arranged below the container. An outlet of the packing drum which extends through a bottom opening in the container is coupled to a product inlet of the metering device. In order to ensure in a reliable manner that the pasty product exits the packing drum only when the packing drum is coupled to the metering device, to avoid product coming in contact with service personnel, the outlet of the packing drum is designed as an outlet spout. A tubular spout holder is provided in the area of the product inlet, and is fitted with an inner cutting element. The cutting element pierces the seal material covering the free end of the outlet spout, as the latter is installed on the tubular spout holder.

Device for metering a pastry product

The invention relates to a dosing apparatus for pastelike substances and mixtures thereof with a solvent by means of an injector, comprising an integrated shutoff device. The apparatus contains a detection device which detects the amount of paste according to conductimetry. The shutoff device is a dual piston valve closing an opening between the paste supply tube and an injector suction chamber as well as an opening between the solvent supply tube and an injector pre-chamber. The invention also relates to a method for dosing pastelike substances and the mixtures thereof with a solvent by means of such a device. By opening a shut-off device in a supply tube for a pressurized solvent, a dual piston valve moves against an opposing force. This releases a connection between a paste supply tube and an injection suction chamber, followed by a connection between the solvent supply tube and the injector pre-chamber. The paste is suctioned by an injector operating according to the hydraulic pump principle and mixed with released solvent. The mixture is injected into a measuring section wherein a conductimetry device measures the amount of paste dissolved in the mixture. The shut-off device is closed when the required dose of paste is obtained, whereupon the circuit which was previously in an open position is shifted in reverse order to a closed position.

Dosing apparatus for detergent paste

The invention relates to a device enabling delivery of a paste from a flexible storage barrel located in a dimensionally stable container. Product is fed to a dosing device which dispenses product under vacuum. A follow-up plate is located on the storage barrel exerting pressure thereon. An opening is located in a central position and surrounds a pressure-sealed connection between the storage barrel and an access passageway to the dosing device.

A dosing pump for dosed liquid conveyance that includes a suction valve built into a suction tube coming out of a suction container, a pump chamber having a displacement volume that can be modified by means of a pumping member, a pressure valve leading to a dosing tube, a deaeration device arranged on the top end of the tube and comprising a return valve and a flow-actuated deaeration and bypass valve built into a deaeration valve having response characteristics dependent upon the state of aggregation of the liquid contained therein. The flow-activated deaeration and bypass valve is open when idle, only closing when pressure is raised in the presence of liquid in the valve, and is provided with a membrane. Faulty pump operation is substantially reduced when the membrane is connected to a remote closing member which closes the deaeration tube when the membrane is moved. A return valve is arranged between the membrane and the closing member.
