A slitting and transporting roller of the described type for sheets of material is suitable particularly as a mating roller in an apparatus for winding up sheets of film, paper and similar materials coming in continuously. In the inner cavity of the roller, a separator is inserted, which forms with the periphery of the roller the boundary at least one pressure space which extends essentially axially over the whole axial length of the roller and is in contact over penetrating boreholes in the roller sheath with the surroundings. Outside of the region of the penetrating boreholes the periphery of the roller additionally is provided with a penetrating slot, which extends, in turn, essentially over the whole axial length of the roller, for a separating slitter supported in the inner cavity of the roller.

Slitting and transporting roller for sheets of material

Apparatus for conveying continuous collapsed film includes a guidance arrangement receiving the continuous collapsed film, the guidance arrangement including at least one guide roller and at least one turning bar for guiding the film. The at least one guide roller changes the direction of the film 180 degrees, and the at least one turning bar changes the direction of the film 180 degrees. A conveyor belt travels the same speed as the film and the conveyor belt and the film loop over the one turning bar in superimposed relationship with the conveyor belt being between the at least one turning bar and the film such that the conveyor belt carries the film during the looping over the at least one turning bar.

Apparatus for conveying collapsed, continuous plastic films

An off-drawing apparatus for tubular webs of plastic film produced by an extruder with a fixedly disposed blow head includes a lay-flat apparatus for the tubular web delivered with an expanded round cross section, and a stationary conveyor for carrying off the flattened tubular web to a likewise stationary winding apparatus. Between the lay-flat apparatus and the conveyor there is disposed at least one pulley roll and one overturning bar for turning the tubular web 180.degree. with simultaneous change of direction, which, like the lay-flat apparatus, are supported in an apparatus frame for pivoting reversingly in a horizontal plane about the axis of the delivered tubular web. The lay-flat apparatus, the pulley roll and the overturning bar are held for their reversing pivoting movement on swivel rings disposed one over the other and supported directly on one another through interposed rolling bodies which form together a swivel ring stack rotatably mounted in the apparatus frame and compressively stressed, whose inside diameter is at least equal to the maximum working width of the apparatus.

Off-drawing apparatus for tubular webs of plastic film

Apparatus for the external support of tubular films of thermoplastic material consists of groups of outwardly curved supporting segments disposed successively in the direction of withdrawal of the tubular film. These supporting segments are adjustable simultaneously and in the same sense to different tubular film diameters, and for their adjusting movement they are each connected with a turning bar which is common to all supporting segment groups and journalled in a supporting frame and with a holding bar aligned parallel thereto which again is common to all supporting segment groups.

Apparatus for supporting tubular films of thermoplastic material

A roll for processing material in the form of a web or strip consists of a cylindrical hollow body of metal, in the cylinder wall of which there is provided a helical medium passage through which a heating or cooling medium can flow. In order to avoid sealing problems in the region of the cylinder wall and to achieve a high heating or cooling performance, the cylinder wall is formed from a cast metal tube and the helical medium passage is formed from a spiral tube of a metal having a distinctly higher melting temperature in comparison with that of the cylinder wall, the spiral tube being rigidly embedded in the cylinder wall during casting thereof. The cylinder wall consists particularly advantageously of a centrifugally cast tube, preferably of aluminium, in the wall of which the spiral tube is included in the casting.

A method for making a roll for processing a web or strip of material

A roll for processing material in the form of a web or strip consists of a cylindrical hollow body of metal, in the cylinder wall of which there is provided a helical medium passage through which a heating or cooling medium can flow.
