A valve of an accumulator device, which is formed by an accumulator cylinder and an accumulator piston guided therein, includes a valve sealing body. The valve sealing body is configured to selectively open and close a valve opening at a valve seat. The valve also includes an opening mechanism configured to selectively raise the valve sealing body from the valve seat. The opening mechanism is held by a spring element, and the spring element is formed by a punched and bent part.

A piezoelectric actuator having a plurality of plates of a piezoelectric material whose polarization direction runs perpendicularly to the plate plane, and which are stacked one over another in their polarization direction. The piezoelectric actuator includes a control voltage source having two contacts, two groups of at least two outer electrodes, respectively, and a plurality of internal electrodes which, in each case, are arranged between the piezoelectric plates. In this context, the outer electrodes of the first group are electrically connected to a first contact of control voltage source, and the outer electrodes of the second group to the second contact of control voltage source. Internal electrodes alternately contact outer electrodes in such a way that, in each case, an internal electrode is electrically connected to one contact of control voltage source, and the internal electrode that is next in the stacking direction is electrically connected to the other contact of control voltage source. The internal electrodes contact the outer electrodes in a cyclic sequence.

Valve for controlling liquids

A piezoelectric actuator for actuating control valves or injection valves in internal combustion engines in motor vehicles. The piezoelectric actuator body is in the form of a multilayer laminate of layered plies of piezoelectric material and intervening metal, for instance electrically conductive layers acting as electrodes. The electrode layers are contacted by electrically conductive common electrode leads, and the actuator body is surrounded by a metal module wall which encircles an interstice that contains the common electrode leads. The common electrode leads are designed in the form of a three-dimensionally structured surface or a three-dimensionally structured body, and a portion thereof contacting the actuator body has a lengthened portion or enlargement, that protrudes into the interstice, for dissipating heat from the actuator body, and an elastomer filling with heat-conducting additive particles in the interstice.

The invention relates to a fuel injection valve that has a valve member which can control a fuel outlet opening. The valve member has a first opening surface, which defines a first opening pressure chamber in the opening direction of the valve member, wherein the first opening pressure chamber is connected to a high-pressure fuel source and the pressure in the first opening pressure chamber produces a first opening force against the first opening surface. The valve member also has a first closing surface, which defines a first closing pressure chamber in the closing direction of the valve member, wherein the first closing pressure chamber is connected to the high-pressure fuel source and the pressure in the first closing pressure chamber produces a first closing force against the first closing surface.

Fuel injection valve for internal combustion engines

The invention relates to a piezoelectric actuator, in particular for actuating control valves or injection valves in internal combustion engines of motor vehicles, having a piezoelectric actuator body in the form of a multi-layer laminate of stacked layers of piezoelectric material and metal or electrically conductive layers, acting as electrodes, located between them, in which one of the face ends of the actuator body is fixed to a stationary metal actuator base, and the other face end borders a metal retaining plate that is movable with the actuator stroke. The piezoelectric actuator is characterized in that the piezoelectric material has blind metal electrodes on both face ends, each of which electrodes is located in a passive piezoceramic cover layer between the respective outermost active piezoceramic layer and the movable retaining plate and actuator base.

A valve for controlling liquids for its actuation is provided with a liquid-filled coupling chamber, which is disposed between a step-up piston, actuatable by a piezoelectric actuator, and a piston that actuates a valve member. To compensate for leakage in the coupling chamber that is at high pressure, a filling valve is provided. The filling valve is disposed between the step-up piston and the piezoelectric actuator. Upon each return stroke of the piezoelectric actuator, the step-up piston follows the piezoelectric actuator with a time lag, so that the filling valve opens briefly and allows filling of the coupling chamber. The valves intended for use in fuel injection systems for internal combustion engines of motor vehicles.

Valve including a step-up piston for controlling fluids

A fuel device including a high-pressure fuel source from which fuel is supplied to fuel injection valves. The fuel injection valves are controlled with the aid of a valve that is driven by a piezoelectric or magnetostrictive drive mechanism. With the aid of this drive mechanism, a 3-way valve having a closing body can be adjusted in an intermediary position in which a control chamber, by way of which a hydraulic force can be exerted in the closing direction on a valve closing member of the injection valve, can simultaneously be connected to a high-pressure fuel source and a relief chamber in order to adjust a control pressure that lies between the high pressure of the high-pressure source and a relief pressure. In this manner, a partial opening of the injection valve member of the injection valve can be adjusted in order to introduce a reduced injection quantity into the combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine.

A piezoelectric actuator intended for instance for actuating injection valves in internal combustion engines of motor vehicles is protected against destructive tensile strains in that resilient prestressing elements that subject the piezoelectric body to precompression are provided for the piezoelectric body of the actuator.

A valve for controlling liquids which for its actuation is provided with a liquid-filled coupling chamber, which is disposed between an actuator piston of a piezoelectric actuator and a piston that actuates a valve member. To compensate for liquid losses suffered by the coupling chamber, which is briefly at high in each work cycle, the pressure difference that exists during the return stroke of the actuator piston between the coupling chamber and the opposite sides of the actuator piston and of the that actuates the valve member that are remote from the coupling chamber is utilized to achieve refilling in valveless fashion along gaps. The valve is used for use in fuel injection systems for internal combustion engines of motor vehicles.

Piezoelectrically actuated fuel injection valve

A valve for controlling fluids, which is provided with a fluid-filled coupling chamber that is disposed between an actuator piston of a piezoelectric actuator and a piston that actuates a valve member. In order to compensate for a leakage in the coupling chamber that is intermittently under high pressure during a switching procedure, a filling valve is provided that is disposed radially on the coupling chamber, but outside the chamber, and this valve monitors an inflow from an inlet conduit that is under ambient pressure in the valve. In this manner, on the one hand, the clearance volume produced by the attachment of the filling valve is very small and on the other hand, the filling valve is independent of the accelerated movements of the pistons, i.e., independent of their acceleration forces. The valve is designated for use in fuel injection devices for internal combustion engines of motor vehicles.

Valve for controlling fluids

A fuel injection system for internal combustion engines is proposed which supplies fuel injection valves with fuel from a high-pressure fuel source, under the control of a control unit. The fuel injection valve has an injection valve member, whose opening or closing position is determined by a pressure that acts upon this injection valve member and that is set in a control chamber. To that end, to perform an injection, the pressure in the control chamber must be relieved; which is achieved with a control valve that opens two different outflow cross sections of an outflow conduit of the control chamber in succession. This makes it possible to accomplish an adapted opening of the fuel injection valve member for a preinjection and for a main injection.
