The invention relates to a device for determining the fill level of a filling substance in a container. The device includes a signal generator unit which generates high-frequency signals, a transmitter/receiver pair which transmits the signals via an antenna and receives the signals which have been reflected on the surface of the filling substance. A coaxial line is also included which has an inner conductor and an outer conductor for bearing the signals, and an evaluation unit which determines the fill level in the container using the transit time of the signals. The antenna has a wave duct which is delimited by a rear wall. A send line is provided on the rear wall of the wave duct, which runs substantially within the wave duct, whereby a first end section of the send line is connected to the inner conductor of the coaxial line.

Device for determining the fill level of a filling substance in a container

This level measuring instrument which operates with microwaves, has a radiation characteristic with a pronounced forward lobe and can be used to transmit and/or receive microwaves with a large frequency bandwidth. A housing section is designed as a waveguide short-circuited at one side and one end by a rear wall, and is virtually completely filled with an insert made of a dielectric. An exciter element, projects into the housing section and is connected to a microwave source. An antenna adjoins the housing section, for transmitting and/or receiving microwaves. A gap is arranged in the insert between the exciter element and the antenna. The gap forms a filter which is essentially non-transparent to higher modes of the waveguide.

Method for producing filling level measuring device operating with microwaves

A filling level measuring device operating with microwaves and to be fastened on a container (3) is provided, the device having a housing (11) and a rod-shaped antenna (7) pointing into the container (3) and the device being designed such that the antenna (7) does not transmit or receive microwaves in the region of a measuring device fastening and the transmitted power is not impaired by condensate or moisture. According to a first solution variant, the antenna (7) is fastened in the housing (11) and a section of the antenna (7) in the region of the measuring device fastening is surrounded by a metallic sleeve (8). According to a second solution variant, a sleeve (8a) in which the antenna (7) is fastened is formed onto the housing (11).

A measuring device is provided, having a cylindrical connection piece (1), having a collar (2) which engages around at least one section of the connection piece (1) and is to be fastened at a measuring location, having a restraining means, by which the connection piece (1) is fastened in the collar (2), having an annular seal (3), which is arranged in the collar (2) and bears in a sealing manner against the connection piece (1), and having a thrust ring (4) which is releasably fastened in the collar (2), and, in an end position, puts the seal (3) under pressure in the axial direction, with which device mounting and demounting at the measuring location take place in one operation and with which device, during mounting, the fastening of the connection piece (1) takes place before or at the same time as the restraining of the seal (3), and with which device, during demounting, first of all the seal (3) is released and then the fastening. This is achieved by the restraining means being designed as a clamping means which can be released from a clamped state just by the action of an external force, and by the clamped state being effected by the end position of the thrust ring (4).
