A device for the detachable fastening of an electrical service appliance such as a car radio, a CD or cassette player, an amplifier, a traffic control unit, and the like, in an insertion opening wall (12) of a mounting frame (9), which may be the instrument panel of a motor vehicle, which appliance comprises countersupports (20) which grip behind the mounting frame (9) in a mounted state forming a back-locking position in which the appliance has been passed into the insertion opening (10) from the front, and which countersupports can be moved from the back-locking position into a release position for releasing the appliance, wherein the countersupport is formed by a latch (20) which is pivotable about a rotation shaft, which is loaded by a spring (30) in a direction towards the back-locking position, and which comprises a curved edge (42) against which an unlocking key (8) can be passed, which key when passing along the curved edge (42) pivots the latch (20) into the release position against the spring pressure.

Device for the detachable fastening of an electrical service appliance

Electrical interconnections between two assemblies, whose connectors are located in hard-to-access areas of an apparatus, are easily connected or disconnected by mounting one of the connectors on a holder which is movable on a support. A first connector is electrically connected to components of a first assembly by flexible leads, and is mounted mechanically on a holder which is detachably aligned on a support fixed on that first assembly. In an initial position, the first assembly's connector is fixed in a position which allows easy access by a test device for electrical connection to the connector. To interconnect the two assemblies in the apparatus, the first assembly is mechanically mounted in its final position, with its connector arranged approximately in line with the mating connector of the second assembly. The holder, which has a long handle or grip providing easy access from the exterior of the apparatus, is then moved along the support toward the second connector. After a small movement, guides on the holder disengage from the support, and the holder and connector are then aligned by a funnel providing self-alignment between the two connector portions before they engage in final electrical connection. Repair or disassembly are simplified because a reverse pull on the holder releases electrical connection between the assemblies, and then fixes the first assembly's connector to its support.

The positioning device for the magnetic head (14) of a magnetic disc store (1) is constructed so that the heat produced by the stepping motor (6) has no significant influence on the magnetic-head support (2). For this purpose the stepping motor (6) is arranged on a mounting plate (5) made of a material with a low thermal expansion coefficient. This mounting plate (5) is secured to the chasis (3) of the drive mechanism. Between the stepping motor (6) and mounting plate (5) a foil (8) with satisfactory heat-sinking properties is arranged.

Temperature-compensated head positioning device for magnetic disc store

A disc drive for a flexible magnetic disc includes a frame, a pivoted cover, a turntable spaced from a spindle-mounted disc clamping cone, and a lever for cooperating with the cone to move it toward and away from the turntable. The lever is mounted on the frame about a pivoting axis. As the cover is closed, a cover mounted roller contacts the lever at a point spaced a distance from the lever pivoting axis. This distance continuously increases until the disc is clamped for operation. The stationary members for the spindle and the turntable are a unitary part with the frame. The members are machined to their final dimensions in one operation.
