The invention is directed to an electrically operable shaving apparatus (,) including at least one short-hair cutter (,) and a long-hair trimmer unit (,) disposed on a housing, with at least one cutting edge formed by cutting teeth of an outer cutter and an inner cutter, in which a component (,), which acts as a guard protecting the skin, is associated with the cutting edge in at least one operating position, said component (,) ceasing to act as a guard protecting the skin in at least one further operating position, wherein said component (,) is displaceable in conjunction with the long-hair trimmer unit (,) into at least one operating position in which said component (,) acts as a guard protecting the skin, and wherein on displacement into a further operating position the long-hair trimmer unit (,) is released by relative opposing movements of the long-hair trimmer unit (,) and the component (,).

The invention is directed to an electric shaving apparatus with a first slide switch slidably arranged on a housing for operating a short-hair cutter assembly K1, K2, with a long-hair trimmer L displaceable by means of a slider as well as a second adjustable slide switch for operating at least one of the cutters. The second slide switch automatically follows in a defined range the control movement of the first slide switch into at least one further control position. The second slide switch is then movable into a cutter assembly locking position in opposition to the direction of the movement of the first slide switch.

The invention is directed to a long-hair trimming device for dry shaving apparatus, with a cutting comb arranged fast with a housing and having an abutment surface for engagement with an abutment surface of a cutting blade which is coupled to a carrier body via at least one driving member, the carrier body being adapted to be driven by a drive means, and with at least one pressure spring bearing with one end against the carrier body while its other end takes support upon the housing, wherein the carrier body provides on the side close to the cutting teeth of the cutting blade a slightly protruding seating edge made of a plastics material and having its cross-sectional profile tapering in the direction of the cutting blade, wherein the seating edge rests against the cutting blade in the area of the root of the cutting teeth, and wherein an optimum abutting engagement of the cutting blade with the cutting comb is accomplished by deformation of the seating edge and the cutting blade by means of the force the pressure spring exerts through the carrier body on the seating edge and on the cutting blade.

Long-hair trimming device for dry shaving apparatus

An electric shaving apparatus has a housing serving as a hand grip (1) with projecting support lugs (11, 12) that defines pivot axis (Z). Shearing head system (2) is movable about pivot axis (Z) and comprises a shearing head frame (3) that has at least one upper cutter (4) with arcuate extensions towards the longitudinal sides (5, 6) of the shearing head frame (3), and at least one under cutter (25, 26, 34) driven by a motor and in cooperative relation with the upper cutter (4). The shearing head system (2) is arranged to pivot about the pivot axis (Z) in such a manner that the shearing area usable for shaving will engage the skin surface and not become disengaged from the skin surface as directions of sliding movement of the shearing head system change.

A container for storing objects comprises a pair of spaced container sections and a hinge structure connected between the sections. Each of these sections is pivotably mounted on the hinge structure so that it is turnable in a path through a full 360.degree. revolution about a respective imaginary axis which extends generally in direction transversely of the path. The hinge structure includes a plurality of spur gears, and one of the gears has a set of teeth aligned so as to extend transversely of the path of movement and another of the gears has a different set of teeth which is inclined relative to said first-mentioned set so as to frictionally retain the container sections at any selected position relative to each other in the path. It is preferred if the container is generally box-shaped for storing such objects as electric shavers and other analogous shaving accessories.
