The invention relates to a system for producing polyolefin. The system comprises a gas phase reactor () for polymerizing an olefin to obtain polymerization product. The gas phase reactor () comprises a gas distribution plate () arranged inside the gas phase reactor (); a first outlet () for continuously withdrawing polymerization product from the gas phase reactor () as a first product stream, the first outlet () being arranged above the gas distribution plate (); and a second outlet () for continuously withdrawing polymerization product from the gas phase reactor () as a second product stream, the second outlet () being arranged above the gas distribution plate (). The system further comprises a first outlet tank () in fluid communication with the first outlet () via a first passage (), wherein the first passage () comprises a first valve means () for controlling the flow of the first product stream in the first passage () and wherein the first outlet tank () is arranged to receive the first product stream and to concentrate the first product stream; a product receiver tank () in fluid communication with the second outlet () via a second passage (), wherein the second passage () comprises a second valve means () for controlling the flow of the second product stream in the second passage (), and wherein the product receiver tank () is arranged to receive the second product stream; and a control means in communication with the first valve means () and the second valve means () and arranged to control the operation of the first valve means () and the second valve means () so that flow in only one of the first passage () and the second passage () is allowed at a time. The invention relates also to a process for recovering polymerization product from a gas phase reactor (). The gas phase reactor () is suitable for polymerizing an olefin to obtain polymerization product and comprises a gas distribution plate () arranged inside the gas phase reactor (); a first outlet () for continuously withdrawing polymerization product from the gas phase reactor (), the first outlet () being arranged above the gas distribution plate (); and a second outlet () for continuously withdrawing polymerization product from the gas phase reactor (), the second outlet () being arranged above the gas distribution plate (). The process comprises selectively withdrawing polymerization product from the gas phase reactor () via the first outlet () as a first product stream, feeding the first product stream to a first outlet tank (), and concentrating the first product stream in the first outlet tank (); or withdrawing polymerization product from the gas phase reactor () via the second outlet () as a second product stream, and feeding the second product stream to a product receiver tank ().

The present invention relates to a process for polymerizing at least one olefin in gas phase in a fluidized bed in a polymerization reactor having a top zone of a generally conical shape as such that the equivalent cross-sectional diameter is monotonically decreasing with respect to the flow direction of the fluidization gas, a middle zone in direct contact with and below said top zone of a generally cylindrical shape and a bottom zone in direct contact and below said middle zone and of a generally conical shape as such that the equivalent cross-sectional diameter is monotonically increasing with respect to the flow direction of the fluidization gas, comprising the steps of: a) introducing a first stream of fluidization gas into the bottom zone; b) polymerizing at least one olefin in the presence of a polymerization catalyst in the fluidized bed formed by particles of a polymer of the at least one olefin suspended in an upwards flowing stream of the fluidization gas in the middle zone; c) withdrawing a second stream comprising the fluidization gas and optionally particles of a polymer of the at least one olefin from the top zone; characterized in that the temperature of the particles of the polymer of the at least one olefin in the fluidized bed (T) does not exceed 120% of the operating temperature set point (T) of the polymerization reactor, wherein Tand Tare both given in ° C., and the use of said process for polymerizing an olefin homo- or copolymer having a narrow particle size distribution.

The present invention relates to a process and apparatus for withdrawing polymer agglomerates from a fluidised bed polymerisation reactor, the polymerisation reactor comprising a bottom zone having a generally conical shape and no fluidisation grid. The agglomerates are withdrawn by using an agglomerate trap below the bottom zone. The present invention deals with an olefin polymerisation process. At least one olefin is polymerised in gas phase in a fluidised bed in the presence of an olefin polymerisation catalyst in a polymerisation reactor having a vertical body; a generally conical downwards tapering bottom zone; a generally cylindrical middle zone above and connected to said bottom zone; and a generally conical upwards tapering top zone above and connected to said middle zone. Fluidisation gas is introduced to the bottom zone of the reactor from where it passes upwards through the reactor, and withdrawn from the top zone of the reactor. The gas is then compressed, cooled and returned into the bottom zone of the reactor. A fluidised bed is thus formed within the reactor where the growing polymer particles are suspended in the upwards rising gas stream wherein the superficial velocity of the fluidisation gas is less than the transport velocity of the particles. There is no fluidisation grid in the reactor. The fluidisation gas is passed from an inlet chamber into the bottom zone and the gas flows from the upper part of the inlet chamber to the lower part thereof and the gas flows from the lower part of the inlet chamber to the bottom zone.
