A method for operating a power converter as an inverter between a DC voltage and an AC voltage grid is disclosed. For each AC voltage phase of the AC voltage grid, the power converter has at least one half-bridge which is connected to the AC voltage phase and has two semiconductor switches. Each semiconductor switch is reversed-connected in parallel with a diode. An activation angle range is determined for each semiconductor switch within an angle period, the lower range limit of which activation angle range is formed by subtracting a pre-firing angle from the lower range limit of a switch angle range, and the upper range limit of which activation angle range is formed by subtracting a pre-extinction angle from the upper range limit of the switch angle range.

Power converter and method for operating a power converter

A converter unit has a main printed circuit board (MPCB) on which at least one functional module is arranged. By the functional module, at least one AC voltage supplied to the functional module via first power connections of the functional module can be converted into at least two DC voltage potentials output via second power connections. The MPCB has conductor paths via which control signals can be supplied to control connections, and the MPCB has conductor paths which extend from a control unit to first and second control connections of the MPCB and via which the first and second control signals can be supplied to the first and second control connections. The functional module is at least mechanically connected to the MPCB at least in the region of the first and second control connections such that the functional module does not use the first and/or the second control signals.

Flexibly configurable converter units

A converter includes a housing having a first interior and a second interior. The first interior is arranged separately from the second interior. Part of the first interior protrudes into the second interior and forms a heat-exchanger duct. A gaseous heat flow circuit is established within the first interior and flows in through an inlet opening of the heat-exchanger duct and flows out through an outlet opening of the heat-exchanger duct. The second interior forms a cooling duct. A gaseous cooling flow flowing through the cooling duct is established and flows around the heat-exchanger duct. The cooling duct is arranged in a region of overlap with the heat-exchanger duct in such a way that a first flow direction of the gaseous heat flow circuit runs substantially perpendicularly or parallel to a second flow direction of the gaseous cooling flow.

Converter having a separate interior

Apparatus for electrically connecting an electrical component to first and second busbars of different potential to one another during operation includes an insulation arranged between the first and second busbars and having first and second openings. The first busbar has a first busbar opening, intended as a first electrical connection, and a second busbar opening. The second busbar has a third busbar opening, intended as a second electrical connection, and a fourth busbar opening. The first opening of the insulation, the first busbar opening and the fourth busbar opening overlap, and the second opening of the insulation, the third busbar openings and the second busbar openings overlap. The insulation has a first boundary which demarcates the first insulation opening and projects into the fourth busbar opening of the second busbar, and a second boundary which demarcates the second opening and projects into the second busbar opening of the first busbar.
