A trigger pump dispenser comprises a body, an outlet nozzle, a pump chamber, a piston for defining a variable volume in the pump chamber, a trigger coupled with the piston by interconnection means, and biasing means for biasing the trigger to a retracted position. The trigger is movable to cause the piston to pump liquid into and out of the pump chamber for dispensing through the outlet nozzle. The piston is interchangeably associatable with the trigger and the pump chamber so that different length pistons are usable to determine different maximum fill volumes of the pump chamber.

A closure assembly has a closure cap () adapted to be fitted to the neck of container to close the container. The cap () has an upper wall () and a cylindrical skirt () depending therefrom. A reservoir () is formed on the underside of the upper wall () radially within the skirt () and has a dispensing opening (). A closing member () is fitted into the closure cap () to close the dispensing opening in the reservoir. When the closure cap () is removed from the container, the closing member () remains held within the neck of the container and is separated from the closure cap so that the dispensing opening is opened and material contained therein is dispensed into the container. The closure cap is provided with sealing means for directly sealing against the neck of a container such as an annular wall () extendin downwardly from the underside of the upper wall of the closure cap () to fit sealingly into the neck of the container.

A trigger pump dispenser has a dispensing passage, an outlet nozzle movable between an 'on' position and an 'off' position, and a shroud. First and second indicator tabs project from the outlet nozzle and correspond with first and second indicator windows in the shroud. When the outlet nozzle is in the &#x201c;on&#x201d; position, the first indicator tab resides in the first indicator window and the second indicator tab is hidden by the shroud, and when the outlet nozzle is in the &#x201c;off&#x201d; position, the second indicator tab resides in the second indicator window and the first indicator tab is hidden by the shroud.

A trigger pump dispenser is made entirely from thermoplastic resin materials. It has a trigger (17) pivotally attached to the body (13) at its top end. The trigger is attached by a living hinge to a piston 16 movable within a pump cylinder (40), and is biased by a spring (18) to the retracted position shown. The spring is generally L-shaped and anchored to the body by its bottom leg so as to straddle the pump cylinder. A unitary valve member (15) located at the back of the pump cylinder provides one-way valves both for product dispensing and for product recharging into the pump chamber.
